From \u2018Trap Queen\u2019 To Trade School?<\/h3>\n

As previously reported<\/a>, the \u2018Trap Queen\u2019 artist was released from a New Jersey prison in January after serving three years of a six-year sentence tied to a drug trafficking conspiracy conviction. Now one month out, Fetty is reflecting on how he spent his time incarcerated\u2014and it wasn\u2019t focused on plotting a major rap comeback.<\/p>\n

In a clip from his appearance<\/a> on the \u2018Tamron Hall Show,\u2019 Fetty revealed he used his time to better himself academically. \u201cI got my GED. I took a few HVAC courses\u2026I did a few things<\/strong>,\u201d he shared. Since he doesn\u2019t write his music down, he explained that creating new songs wasn\u2019t really a priority while he was locked up.<\/p>\n

Rap Comeback? Nah, He Had Other Ideas<\/h3>\n

When Tamron Hall asked if he expected to return home as a hip-hop star<\/a>, Fetty didn\u2019t hesitate. \u201cNo<\/strong>,\u201d he replied. And when she jokingly followed up about whether he was serious about becoming \u201cFetty the HVAC guy,<\/strong>\u201d he doubled down. \u201cYeah, I\u2019m so serious too<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fetty explained that being around other inmates who ran legitimate businesses opened his eyes. He met people making what he described as \u201crapper money<\/strong>\u201d through trades and entrepreneurship, which inspired him to consider a completely different lane. While fans are eager to see what\u2019s next musically, it sounds like Fetty was fully prepared to swap the studio for toolkits if that\u2019s what life required.<\/p>\n
