Tucker Trounces Fox In Favorability Ratings Rout<\/span><\/p>\n

Tucker Carlson has a 63 point lead <\/strong>in popularity over his former employer, Fox News, according to a new survey from consulting agency Change Research.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Carlson’s net favorability among Republicans is currently at +59<\/strong>, while Fox News’ is sitting at -4<\/strong>, a difference of 63 points<\/p>\n

In the aftermath of Tucker Carlson\u2019s firing from Fox News, Republicans sided with Tucker:<\/p>\n

Carlson and the network parted ways in late April for unknown reasons – with Fox holding the host hostage via his contract that prevents him from appearing on other networks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To circumvent this, Carlson announced he’ll be featuring his show on Twitter!<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The best you can hope for in the news business at this point is the freedom to tell the fullest truth that you can<\/strong>. But there are always limits. And you know that if you bump up against those limits often enough, you will be fired for it,” Carlson said in a video which decried the media for being misleading “in every story that matters every day of the week, every week of the year.”<\/p>\n

Speaking of Twitter, the Change Research poll also found that Twitter CEO Elon Musk has a net favorability rating of +53 with Republicans<\/strong>, -17 with Independends, and -75 with Democrats (Carlson is at -84 with the latter).<\/p>\n

Just like Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk is popular on the right, very unpopular on the left, and somewhat unpopular with the middle.<\/p>\n

As the Epoch Times<\/em><\/a> notes;<\/p>\n

Nicholas Fondacaro, associate editor of the conservative media watchdog NewsBusters, told The Epoch Times that Carlson\u2019s mission, like Musk\u2019s, is about free speech.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cCarlson seemed earnest in his announcement video that he believes Twitter is the last bastion of free speech, likely because Elon Musk has made it clear that ensuring free speech was his priority when purchasing the platform<\/strong>,\u201d he told The Epoch Times. \u201cMusk has, by most accounts, talked the talk and walked the walk.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk clarified in a Twitter post<\/a>\u00a0that Carlson had not signed any contract with Twitter to broadcast his show on the platform and that the former Fox host would need to follow the same rules that apply to all Twitter users.<\/p>\n

\u201cRewards means subscriptions and advertising revenue share (coming soon), which is a function of how many people subscribe and the advertising views associated with the content,\u201d Musk continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that many others, particularly from the left, also choose to be content creators on this platform,\u201d the Twitter chief added.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Musk later called on former CNN anchor Don Lemon to do his show on Twitter in what could be seen as an attempt on Musk\u2019s part to encourage a broad array of views on the platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cHave you considered doing your show on this platform?\u201d Musk said in a May 10 reply<\/a> to Lemon\u2019s April 24 post announcing that CNN had fired him. \u201cMaybe worth a try. Audience is much bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ratings Shakeup<\/h2>\n

After Carlson\u2019s exit, Fox News\u2019 8 p.m. hour suffered a dip in ratings after creating a replacement program for Carlson\u2019s show called \u201cFox News Tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other Fox primetime shows, including the 9 p.m. one currently held by Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham\u2019s programs, have also seen their ratings drop.<\/p>\n

\u201cFox News Tonight\u201d drew 1.3 million total viewers and 136,000 demographic viewers, according to<\/a> Nielsen ratings.<\/p>\n

In March, Carlson averaged more than\u00a03 million viewers each night. Part of Carlson\u2019s popularity, especially among conservatives, was likely bolstered by his coverage of never-before-seen footage from the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol breach that he said challenged mainstream narratives that the incident was a \u201cviolent insurrection.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox said that the newly minted show, which the network said was temporary, features a rotating cast of hosts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, Trump-era press secretary Kayleigh McEnany hosted the show, and this week, Fox\u2019s Will Cain has had the hosting duties.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo decision has been made on a new primetime line-up and there are multiple scenarios under consideration,\u201d a Fox News spokesperson told The Epoch Times on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
