When a \u2018LGBTQ+\u2019 reporter confronted Vivek Ramaswamy, demanding to know his views on the \u201cLGBTQ+ community,\u201d\u00a0the Republican presidential candidate provided a stark reality check.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Ramaswamy told the person that he doesn\u2019t \u201cthink it\u2019s one community,\u201d explaining that as far as he can tell \u201cTrans is fundamentally in tension with gay, if you ask me.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The person then attempted to get Ramaswamy to say something negative about same sex couples<\/strong>, to which he responded that he only has a \u201cnegative view of the tyranny of the minority.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

A \u201cpan-sexual\u201d LGBTQIA+ activist approached me at the Iowa State Fair with a question. I answered directly: in the name of protecting against tyranny of the majority, we\u2019ve created a new tyranny of the minority. That\u2019s just the TRUTH. https:\/\/t.co\/4GQxcwfQIi<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think that somebody who is religious should be forced to officiate a wedding that they disagree with,\u201d he stated, adding \u201cI don\u2019t think somebody who is a woman who has worked really hard for her achievements should compete against a biological man in a swim competition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ramaswamy continued, \u201cI don\u2019t think somebody who is a woman, that respects her bodily autonomy and dignity should be forced to change clothes in a locker room with a man.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is not freedom, that\u2019s oppression,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> he urged.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ramaswamy also asserted that while adults can do as they please \u201cdo not foist that ideology onto children before children are in a position to make decisions for themselves.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The candidate said many Americans are tired of being subjected to this \u201cnew culture of oppression.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cPart of what makes our country great is that you and I can be civil and have this conversation and that we live in a country that gives each of us a right to speak to a presidential candidate and back,\u201d Ramaswamy told the person.<\/p>\n

He followed up during an interview on Fox News:<\/p>\n
