{"id":1427392,"date":"2023-09-14T09:45:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T13:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1427392"},"modified":"2023-09-14T09:45:00","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T13:45:00","slug":"these-are-the-countries-that-attract-the-most-migrants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/these-are-the-countries-that-attract-the-most-migrants\/1427392\/","title":{"rendered":"These Are The Countries That Attract The Most Migrants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">These Are The Countries That Attract The Most Migrants<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><strong>The United States has been the main destination for international\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/topics\/9446\/migration\/#topicOverview\">migrants<\/a>\u00a0worldwide since 1970,<\/strong> according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldmigrationreport.iom.int\/wmr-2022-interactive\/\">World Migration Report 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2023-09-13_16-10-58.jpg?itok=oyojgWzL\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/30815\/top-destination-countries-for-international-migrants\/\">as Statista&#8217;s Anna Fleck reports<\/a>, <strong>the number of foreign-born people in the country has increased more than fourfold, from fewer than 12 million in 1970 to more than 50 million in 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest groups of migrants came from Mexico (10,853,105), India (2,723,764), China (2,184,110), the Philippines (2,061,178) and El Salvador (1,410,659).<\/p>\n<p>As the following chart shows,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/topics\/6953\/migration-and-integration-in-germany\/#topicOverview\">Germany<\/a>\u00a0comes in second place in the ranking of countries with the most international migrants. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/30815\/top-destination-countries-for-international-migrants\/\" title=\"Infographic: The Countries That Attract the Most Migrants | Statista\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>You will find more infographics at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chartoftheday\/\">Statista<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>It too has seen numbers skyrocket in recent years, with nearly double the number of people who were born abroad residing there between 2000 and 2020<\/strong> &#8211;
