{"id":1430630,"date":"2023-10-05T07:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T11:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1430630"},"modified":"2023-10-05T07:30:00","modified_gmt":"2023-10-05T11:30:00","slug":"cbdc-lays-foundation-for-new-global-monetary-system-french-central-bank-admits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/cbdc-lays-foundation-for-new-global-monetary-system-french-central-bank-admits\/1430630\/","title":{"rendered":"CBDC Lays Foundation For New Global Monetary System: French Central Bank Admits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">CBDC Lays Foundation For New Global Monetary System: French Central Bank Admits<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/cbdc-foundation-new-global-monetary-system-french-central-bank\"><em>Authored by David Attlee via CoinTelegraph.com,<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Representatives of Banque de France, the French central bank, have embraced the global perspective on the central bank digital currency (CBDC) discussion, touting it as the foundation of a new international monetary system.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct.3, Denis Beau, the first deputy governor at Banque de France,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.banque-france.fr\/en\/governors-interventions\/unveiling-potential-wholesale-cbdc-what-insights-and-prospects-concluding-remarks\">called<\/a>\u00a0the CBDC <em><strong>\u201cthe catalyst for improving cross-border payments by enabling the build-up of a new international monetary system.\u201d <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The official emphasizes the necessity of considering cross-border issue around CBDCs from the outset and not as an afterthought.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2023-10-04_17-04-56.jpg?itok=JKh42Zlb\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Beau sees several paths for developing a CBDC. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first is the development of common standards and interoperability between wholesale CBDCs and legacy systems.<\/p>\n<p>The second &#8211; promoted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) &#8211; is the development of regional or global CBDC platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Wholesale CBDCs could be standardized to be exchanged directly on these platforms and perform payment versus payment and delivery versus payment transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Beau cited the example of Project Mariana, which explored the possibilities of an automated market maker (AMM).
