NHS Slammed For Recording “Gender Identity” Of Newborn Babies<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Health Service in the UK has come under increased scrutiny after it rolled out a new \u00a3450 million IT system that only allows midwives to register the \u2018gender identity\u2019 of newborn babies, rather than their biological sex.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Daily Mail\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0that some midwives went public, complaining that the new EPIC computer system is forcing gender identities on newborns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hospital discharge summary is an important document for the baby to receive the best care from the whole NHS team,\u201d <\/em>one midwife told the outlet, adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are talking about newborn and very young babies here. What on earth has gender identity as a concept got to do with them? It\u2019s ludicrous.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The midwife also claimed that there is now a \u201cclimate of fear\u201d within the organisation and that midwives are also being ordered to use terms such as \u2018birthing parent\u2019 instead of \u2018mother\u2019 and \u2018chest-feeding\u2019 rather than \u2018breast-feeding\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s rights\u00a0campaigners have charged that the move is down to the influence of woke\u00a0pro-transgender\u00a0activists within the government run health service, yet NHS bosses have claimed there is a \u201csystem error\u201d in the U.S. made technology, and the \u201cunfortunate language\u201d is being corrected.<\/p>\n

Maya Forstater, of campaign group Sex Matters, commented \u201cLondon hospitals registering babies by their gender identity is absurd and chilling, and a clear indicator of the extent to which transactivism has taken over the NHS.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenny Gamble, professor of midwifery at Coventry University, added \u201cSex is not assigned at birth, that is delusional. A baby cannot have a gender identity, because it\u2019s a baby. Gender identity is important later in life but it never erases the importance of sex.\u201d<\/p>\n
