Did you hear that? He admitted it!,&#8221; Trump said, speaking at a Saturday political rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, at lease he was honest,&#8221; Trump continued.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>When I&#8217;m re-elected I will cancel Biden&#8217;s artificial intelligence executive order<\/strong> and ban the use of AI to censor the speech of American citizens, <strong>on day one<\/strong>,&#8221; he then proclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>Watch:<\/p>\n<p>President Trump in Iowa: &#8220;Just this week Biden&#8217;s Homeland Security Secretary even admitted that they are weaponizing Artificial Intelligence to target American Citizens for political speech. When i&#8217;m re-elected I will cancel Biden&#8217;s Artificial Intelligence executive order and ban\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9d365xiZhS\">pic.twitter.com\/9d365xiZhS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 MAGA War Room (@MAGAIncWarRoom) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MAGAIncWarRoom\/status\/1731067876801474707?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 2, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We assume Trump was talking about recent comments by DHS Secretary Mayorkas that the government was going to &#8216;defend against the adverse use of AI,&#8217; which includes &#8216;disinformation.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>DHS Secretary Mayorkas on what their AI task force that is &#8220;now on hyperdrive&#8221; is looking into \ud83d\udc47<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AxiosAISummit?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AxiosAISummit<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5pXXDSfGuw\">pic.twitter.com\/5pXXDSfGuw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Axios (@axios) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/axios\/status\/1729557555792216526?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 28, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As <em>Fedscoop.com<\/em> notes, <strong>Biden&#8217;s EO has been largely well received <\/strong>by AI experts and government leaders, however<strong> several tech industry associations have pushed back<\/strong>, arguing that it could stifle innovation and is too confusing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/biden_21_80.jpg?itok=Zem3RyqD\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>NetChoice, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Software &amp; Information Industry Association \u2014 which represent some of the largest AI and tech companies in the world \u2014 e<strong>xpressed several concerns about the long-awaited<a href=\"https:\/\/fedscoop.com\/biden-artificial-intelligence-ai-executive-order\/\"> 111-page executive order<\/a>,<\/strong> which marks the most aggressive step by the government to rein in the technology to date.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The wide-ranging executive order, which aims to tackle everything from AI privacy risks to federal procurement, <strong>calls on several agencies to take on new responsibilities related to artificial intelligence<\/strong>. The order also addresses new strategies for federal agency use of the technology, including issuing guidance for agency deployment, helping agencies access AI systems through more efficient and less expensive contracting, and hiring more AI professionals within the government.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Broad regulatory measures in Biden\u2019s AI red tape wishlist will result in stifling new companies and competitors from entering the marketplace and significantly expanding the power of the federal government over American innovation,&#8221; said Carl Szabo, VP and general counsel at NetChoice. &#8220;<strong>This order puts any investment in AI at risk of being shut down at the whims of government bureaucrats.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Imagine a computer code Ibram Kendi installed directly into your operating system, forever. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CW8KyiX26U\">https:\/\/t.co\/CW8KyiX26U<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Christopher F. Rufo \u2694\ufe0f (@realchrisrufo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1719462635207553264?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 31, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That is dangerous for our global standing as the leading technological innovators, and this is the wrong approach to govern AI.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tom Quaadman, executive vice president of the Chamber\u2019s Technology Engagement Center, said that the EO shows promise, but also raises concerns.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Substantive and process problems still exist,&#8221; he said, adding &#8220;Short, overlapping timelines for agency-required action endangers necessary stakeholder input, thereby creating conditions for ill-informed rulemaking and degrading intra-government cooperation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advancing Equity and Civil Rights?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As Jon Schweppe, Policy Director of American Principles Project told <em>The Federalist <\/em>in early November, &#8220;Stifling \u2018innovation\u2019 shouldn\u2019t be the main concern,&#8221; adding &#8220;We should want tech companies to be very cautious in how they approach AI development. But <strong>is empowering government bureaucrats \u2014 who have their own political agenda \u2014 really the best approach? <\/strong>Especially when censorship of \u2018bad ideas\u2019 is viewed by so many progressives as the highest good?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And so of course&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em>Most notable, however, <strong>is the administration\u2019s explicit call for the integration of AI with corrosive leftist ideologies that have taken over every major institution and pit Americans against one another.<\/strong> In the section titled \u201c<strong>Advancing Equity and Civil Rights<\/strong>,\u201d the Department of Justice\u2019s Civil Rights Division is directed to \u201cprevent and address discrimination in the use of automated systems, including algorithmic discrimination\u201d and \u201cimprove external stakeholder engagement to promote public awareness of potential discriminatory uses and effects of AI,\u201d among other things.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>What this means, of course, is the federal government will strong-arm AI companies into making toxic, anti-American concepts such as critical race theory foundational components of their models.<\/strong> At the outset of the order, Biden states, \u201cAI reflects the principles of the people who build it, the people who use it, and the data upon which it is built.\u201d His administration is keenly aware that AI models are reliant upon the external worldviews of their programmers.
