UK Church Replaces “Husband And Wife” With More “Inclusive” Terms<\/span><\/p>\n

The Methodist Church in the UK has issued an\u00a0\u2018inclusive language\u2019 guide<\/a>, advising followers to refrain from using terms such as \u2018husband\u2019, \u2018wife\u2019, \u2018brother\u2019, and \u2018sister\u2019, reasoning that some people might find them \u201churtful\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Christian Post\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0that the guide lists extensive categories of people with whom Methodists are advised to use \u201csensitive and inclusive\u201d language when addressing minorities that have been \u201cmarginalised and\/or demonised by common culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

The guide notes that \u201cAs Christians, we need to have the courage for conversations that can sometimes be difficult, to recognise that we sometimes exclude people, to listen with humility, to repent of any hurtful language and to take care with how we listen and what we say or write, in the Spirit of Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

It continues, \u201cThere is infinite variety in the way that God\u2019s creation is expressed in human life. This is worth bearing in mind as we speak and write. Terminology such as \u2018husband\u2019 and \u2018wife\u2019 may sound inoffensive but it makes assumptions about a family or personal life that is not the reality for many people.\u201d<\/p>\n

It adds that \u201cThe words \u2018parent,\u2019 \u2018partner\u2019, and \u2018child\u2019 are a good place to start. \u2018Carer\u2019 is also a neutral yet understandable way to refer to the primary carer of a child, who may or may not be their parent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not \u2018mother\u2019 or \u2018father\u2019 then.<\/p>\n

The Methodist newspeak guide also clarifies that \u201cLanguage such as \u2018brothers and sisters,\u2019 while intended to be inclusive and friendly, doesn\u2019t take into account our non-binary friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

It further states that \u201cusing a person\u2019s chosen pronouns is helpful as it honours their identity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The guide also encourages congregations to \u201cshare your own pronouns in conversation,\u201d before directing them to radical leftist LGBTQ+ activist groups, including Stonewall and GLAAD, as well as TikTok trans-activist Jeffrey Marsh, who was recently accused of sexually grooming children.<\/p>\n

British Old Catholic cleric and conservative commentator Father Calvin Robinson slammed the Methodist Church over the guidance, noting \u201cThis is not Christianity. It is Critical Theories: \u2018smash heteronormativity.\u2019 It is no longer enough to acknowledge disordered lifestyles. Everything normative and ordered must be demolished for fear of causing offense.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the Methodist Church is of Protestant denomination, the Catholic Church of England has also become so infested with wokery to the point that it has\u00a0considered dropping the phrase \u201cour Father\u201d<\/a>\u00a0from the start of the Lord\u2019s Prayer, and instructing clergy to refrain from using male pronouns when talking about God.<\/p>\n

Some churches have gone as far as erasing references to the nativity and Jesus in a Christmas carol and\u00a0replacing them with a celebration of \u201cqueer\u201d people<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In July last year, the Church of England\u00a0refused<\/a>\u00a0to define what a woman was, saying they had no definition of it on their books, despite still ostensibly opposing same sex marriage.<\/p>\n

The Church has even appointed a transgender archdeacon, and those within who express disagreement with such moves are shunned and punished.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In 2021, the CofE also announced it was introducing\u00a0quotas for black and ethnic clergy\u00a0<\/a>to pave the way for \u2018anti-racism training\u2019 in the Church, as well as \u2018contextualising church statues that may cause offence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Telegraph: “The Church of England will introduce a quota for black and minority ethnic (BAME) clergy, roll out anti-racism training & contextualise church statues “that may cause pain or offence.”<\/p>\n
