Rand Paul (R-Ky.) offered an anti-endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley early on Jan. 12.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/image%281342%29.jpg?itok=yjWttDux\"><em>Sen. (Greg Nash-Pool\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The video announcement came after a tease that he&#8217;d have \u201csomething important to say\u201d about the upcoming 2024 presidential race.<\/p>\n<p>The Republican from Kentucky attacked Ms. Haley\u2019s foreign policy positions, comparing them to those of the \u201cDick Cheney, John McCain wing of the party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As I look over the GOP candidates for President, I don\u2019t yet have a first choice. But I do know one thing: count me in as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NeverNikki?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#NeverNikki<\/a>! If you want freedom of speech and oppose forever-wars join me \u27a1\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OBNnT6ZhjP\">https:\/\/t.co\/OBNnT6ZhjP<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qxluyL7aIj\">pic.twitter.com\/qxluyL7aIj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rand Paul (@RandPaul) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RandPaul\/status\/1745864529446085048?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 12, 2024<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>He stated that Ms. Haley is the only candidate with whom he&#8217;d be uncomfortable as the GOP nominee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not yet ready to make a decision, but I am ready to make a decision on someone who I cannot support. <strong>So I\u2019m announcing this morning that I\u2019m \u2018never Nikki<\/strong>,\u2019\u201d the lawmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RandPaul\/status\/1745864529446085048?s=20\">said<\/a>, referencing the former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador.<\/p>\n<p>When speaking about the other candidates, Mr. Paul was more charitable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had a long relationship with Donald Trump, and there\u2019s a lot to like there,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m also a big fan of a lot of the fiscal conservatism of Ron DeSantis. I think Vivek Ramaswamy has been an important voice [and I] also have listened to and met with the independent [Robert F.] Kennedy [Jr.].<\/p>\n<p>But, \u201cI don\u2019t think any informed or knowledgeable libertarian or conservative should support Nikki Haley. I\u2019ve seen her attitude towards our event [and] our interventions overseas. I\u2019ve seen her involvement in the military-industrial complex, $8 million being paid to become part of a team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Paul also disagreed with Ms. Haley\u2019s ideals on internet usage, saying he stands against making individuals register to use the internet<\/strong>: \u201cI think she fails to understand that our Republic was founded upon people like Ben Franklin, Sam Adams, [James] Madison, John Jay, and others who posted routinely\u2014for fear of the government\u2014they posted routinely anonymously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think her failure to really understand that or to think that you should register through the government somehow on the internet is something that should disqualify her in the minds of all libertarian and libertarian-leaning conservatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Paul teased his news the afternoon before with a post on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Following his video statement, Mr. Paul also pointed to Ms. Haley\u2019s stance on the United Nations, where she served as U.S. ambassador, as problematic in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RandPaul\/status\/1745793279398912431?s=20\">series of posts<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe repeatedly praised the U.N. Secretary-General [Antonio Guterres, former president of Socialist International] and declared that they \u2019think alike,&#8217;\u201d said Mr. Paul. And she was positive about the \u201cresults\u201d the United Nations achieved and \u201cthe people who ran it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Kentucky senator encouraged voters to go to nevernikki.net and \u201cshow her that you\u2019re \u2018never Nikki\u2019 also.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve stayed out of the Republican Presidential Primary so far\u2014but I\u2019ve seen enough. That\u2019s why tomorrow morning I will have something important to say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the leadup to the first primary\u2014the Republican Party of Iowa\u2019s Jan. 15 caucus\u2014former President Donald Trump has maintained a commanding lead.<\/p>\n<p>Two fresh polls conducted only in Iowa reveal that the margin between the former president and his primary competitors is as great as it has ever been.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/trump-maintains-major-lead-in-final-days-before-iowa-caucus-polls-5562504\">results of a poll<\/a> conducted by Morning Consult and published on Jan. 8 indicate that<strong> 58 percent of the anticipated caucus attendees in Iowa will vote for President Trump.<\/strong> Fourteen percent of respondents indicated that they will be voting for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, while 15 percent stated they will support Nikki Haley.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, 9 percent of respondents indicated they would choose businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
