A new Pentagon statement says he is still going to <strong>work remotely from home &#8220;for a period of time&#8221;<\/strong> before returning to his office. The statement sought to assure that he has &#8220;full access&#8221; to secure communications capabilities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/austinhspnew.jpg?itok=rFMDjbnw\"><em>Wiki Commons<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Secretary Austin\u2019s prostate cancer was treated early and effectively, and his prognosis is excellent,&#8221; Austin\u2019s doctors have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Releases\/Release\/Article\/3645144\/secretary-of-defense-lloyd-j-austin-iii-released-from-hospital\/#:~:text=The%20Secretary%20is%20expected%20to,than%20regular%20post-prostatectomy%20surveillance.\">assessed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was on Jan. 5th that the Pentagon first disclosed to the public that he had been hospitalized. For the initial part of that week prior, even the White House didn&#8217;t know, and his deputy Kathleen Hicks was also unaware of the full status of his condition while on vacation in Puerto Rico.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/political\/lloyd-austins-deputy-ran-pentagon-beach-didnt-cancel-vacation\">since claimed<\/a> that she was running things from her hotel room. But this is dubious given she <strong>appears not to have been fully aware that she was effectively in charge<\/strong>. She merely was tasked with certain duties instead.<\/p>\n<p>The National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby has also asserted that Austin&#8217;s overseeing the country&#8217;s national security from the hospital while recovering &#8220;was no different than it would be on any other given day, except that he was briefing the president on options and engaged in the discussions from the hospital.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But bipartisan Congressional leaders have demanded answers, which have not been forthcoming.
