Rand Paul: It’s Time The US Stopped Being “The Sugar Daddy Of The Entire World”<\/span><\/p>\n

GOP Senator Rand Paul has called for the United States to stop paying for everything on the globe at the expense of its own people, asking \u201cWhen did we become the sugar daddy of the world?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking with Fox Business on yet another upcoming funding bill for Ukraine, Paul noted \u201cthere\u2019s going to be $11 billion dollars worth of \u2018humanitarian assistance,\u2019 some of that goes to Ukraine, but some of it is going to Gaza. It\u2019s not clear exactly how much is going to the Palestinians, but it is sort of bizarre that we fund both sides of every war.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cThey\u2019re going to expect us to clean up, repair Ukraine when it is done being destroyed. The same with Gaza. Gaza is being destroyed but who is going to pay for it? They expect to us pay for it. I don\u2019t want a penny going to Hamas or any of these people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have great sympathy for those living in Gaza and the mess they are in, and I wish it would stop. But I don\u2019t think we should always have to pay for everything,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Paul urged.<\/p>\n

The Senator added, \u201cIt is a history of both parties, really, frankly over decades, funding both sides of every war. Once war is over, we say we will pay to clean it up. No. It is a problem. It is sort of the opposite of the philosophy of some from the liberty wing of the party.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need to have 1,500 troops in Niger, Africa, or troops in Somalia. We frankly don\u2019t need like 800 troops spread out throughout Syria, where they are basically just targets for different terrorists,\u201d <\/strong><\/em>Paul continued, noting \u201cThese are the discussions we should have, but still the majority of Republicans and Democrats want troops everywhere, our hands in everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also don\u2019t have money for it anymore<\/strong> because we are running a $1.5 trillion deficit, we borrowed a trillion dollars just in the last three months. It is out of control and some of it has to do with foreign expenditures. We gotta think about what is going on at home,\u201d Paul further warned.<\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s latest comments come after he told Tucker Carlson \u201cHalf of my Republican caucus is, as we speak, ready to sell out, and they\u2019re ready to sell out fake border reform in exchange for what they really want, which is to send more of your tax dollars to Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
