No Charges For Dem Staffer Who Filmed Gay Porn Video In Senate Hearing Room<\/span><\/p>\n

The U.S. Capitol Police\u00a0announced on Thursday<\/a>\u00a0that they have declined to press charges against the former Democrat Senate staffer who filmed a gay sex video in a Capitol Hill hearing room last month.<\/p>\n

In a news release, the USCP said there was no evidence that Aidan Maese-Czeropski, a former aide for Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin (D-Md.), broke the law by filming himself copulating with another male inside the Hart Senate Office Building on the morning of Wednesday, December 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter consulting with federal and local prosecutors, as well as doing a comprehensive investigation and review of possible charges, it was determined that \u2014 despite a likely violation of Congressional policy \u2014 there is currently no evidence that a crime was committed<\/strong><\/em>,\u201d the agency said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough the hearing room was not open to the public at the time, the Congressional staffer involved had access to the room,\u201d <\/strong><\/em>the agency said. \u201cThe two people of interest were not cooperative, nor were the elements of any of the possible crimes met.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Congressional staffer, who has since resigned from his job, exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent and refused to talk to us,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> the agency added.<\/p>\n

USCP said it was closing the investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding the sex tape \u201cfor now,\u201d but that investigators \u201care willing to review new evidence should any come to light.\u201d<\/p>\n

George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley was one of several legal experts who speculated last month that the staffer could be charged with a crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe question is whether this unofficial use would constitute trespass,\u201d <\/strong>Turley wrote in a\u00a0blog post.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt also uses an official area for personal purposes, though it is not clear if there were any commercial benefits garnered from the video found on various sites,\u201d the professor added.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe U.S. Capitol Police answered much debated question today: it turns out that shooting a porn scene in a Senate Hearing room and posting it on the Internet is not a crime\u2026\u201d <\/strong><\/em>Turley quipped on X Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
