{"id":1473062,"date":"2024-06-24T18:25:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-24T22:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1473062"},"modified":"2024-06-24T18:25:00","modified_gmt":"2024-06-24T22:25:00","slug":"biden-dhs-group-used-jan-6-to-justify-supercharged-surveillance-of-trump-supporters-court-docs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/biden-dhs-group-used-jan-6-to-justify-supercharged-surveillance-of-trump-supporters-court-docs\/1473062\/","title":{"rendered":"Biden DHS Group Used Jan. 6 To Justify Supercharged Surveillance Of Trump Supporters: Court Docs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Biden DHS Group Used Jan. 6 To Justify Supercharged Surveillance Of Trump Supporters: Court Docs<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) &#8216;Experts Group&#8217; that included deep state &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1786470151119880653\">laptop letter<\/a>&#8216; partisans James Clapper and John Brennan, <strong>advocated using Jan. 6 and the Mar-a-Lago raid to justify expanding surveillance of political dissent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/utqUlg2O_80.jpg?itok=dJnmFUUB\"><em>Illustration via aflegal.org<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This latest bombshell comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/aflegal.org\/exclusive-new-docs-from-deep-state-committee-reveal-how-january-6-and-the-raid-at-mar-a-lago-emboldened-dhs-to-expand-monitoring-of-americans\/\">America First Legal<\/a>, which is suing the Biden DHS along with former acting DNI Richard Grenell over the September 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1786470135210901757\">formation<\/a> of the &#8220;Homeland Intelligence Experts Group,&#8221; which they have accused of violating the Federal Advisory Committee Act due to lack of balance and transparency.<\/p>\n<p>\/1\ud83d\udea8EXCLUSIVE\ud83d\udea8<\/p>\n<p>Docs show Biden\u2019s DHS intel group used Jan. 6 &amp; the Mar-a-Lago raid to justify expanding surveillance of political dissent.<\/p>\n<p>The group advocated for \u201ccollection based on speech\u201d \u2014 as in spying on Americans for criticizing their gov\u2019t.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/DeepStateDiaries?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#DeepStateDiaries<\/a> PART 3<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TbtMlsI3Fd\">pic.twitter.com\/TbtMlsI3Fd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 America First Legal (@America1stLegal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1805284552954310927?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 24, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to these new documents, one group member noted that &#8220;<strong>prior to January 6th\u201d (i.e., under the Trump administration), analysts thought that \u201cit was inappropriate to collect\u201d intelligence on Americans<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After Jan. 6, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1805284560436854957\">however<\/a>, <strong>they observed a change in collection and reporting methods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2ovVGXkAAOOGk_80.jpg?itok=jiqTK0Vq\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Continued<\/em><em> via X<\/em>;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">The documents indicate that <strong>under the Biden Administration, the federal government has used January 6 to justify expanding efforts to collect intelligence on what they deem \u201cDVE\u201d or \u201cDomestic Violent Extremists.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1804115251513753885\">second installment<\/a> of the #DeepStateDiaries showed, \u201cDVE\u201d or \u201cdomestic violent extremists\u201d is the group\u2019s term for people who are \u201creligious,\u201d \u201cin the military,\u201d or support President Trump.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\"><strong>The Brennan-Clapper group discussed \u201ccollection based on sites where they expect to see indicators,\u201d <\/strong>suggesting that the federal government sought to monitor sites they viewed as \u201cdomestic extremism threats.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2ov53XUAEo3yI_80.jpg?itok=5uAt5VOd\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">Notably, one group member asked, \u201c<strong>When you are looking at speech online, how do you know if it is serious? Political? Hyperbole?<\/strong>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2o6I_XAAAOkXY_80.jpg?itok=kJ0i7ugO\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">The Biden Administration\u2019s historical approach, as evidenced by these documents and the DOJ\u2019s sentencing of Douglass Mackey to 7 months in prison for posting memes ahead of the 2016 election, is that speech online should be considered \u201cserious\u201d only when it comes from conservatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">As another data point, later in the conversation, someone else again mentioned how \u201cefforts to collect\u201d intelligence have noticeably changed post-January 6.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/comey%20brennan%20clapper_3.jpg?itok=in_rq7pk\"><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to the lawsuit, the Biden administration agreed to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1786469994328428890\">dissolve<\/a> the Experts Group<\/strong> and turn over documents to America First Legal, which is now blowing the whistle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2pHVUW4AA6faO_80.jpg?itok=m3uepTCd\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">And yet another participant noted that the \u201csupport\u201d for the \u201cmission set\u201d has changed post-January 6 at the \u201cdepartmental\u201d level and has \u201cbecome political.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2pMf9XoAAdGHU_80.jpg?itok=dVyKueAA\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">The translation is that <strong>the committee appears to have been interested in DHS using the DHS\u2019 Office of Intelligence and Analysis to push the bounds on activity<\/strong>\u2014traditionally thought to be off limits\u2014and is using January 6 as the excuse to do it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">The following statement, from an unknown Group member sheds some light on where that political support is coming from\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">Recall that this Group was full of security state officials who aligned themselves with the political left (98% of the political contributions from the Group members went to Democratic candidates for office, whereas 1% went to Republican candidates for office).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2pdHjWkAEnRWH_80.jpg?itok=2te0R-DY\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\/13 This Group Member went so far as to encourage I&amp;A to lean into using practices that 1) even the FBI says it does not have the authority to do, 2) the Senate has refused to give to any law enforcement agency, and 3) Members of Congress generally oppose.<\/p>\n<p>But in r-poiln3\">Disturbingly, the group went on to discuss that around January 6, the \u201cFBI testified that they were limited with what they could do with social media,\u201d but that \u201caction reporting\u201d post-January 6 may have changed. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">This suggests that the group was planning to potentially advise DHS to ramp up efforts to monitor political dissent on social media.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2p-HjXwAAyr7E_80.jpg?itok=7vCMlFb0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">The group also discussed using the fabricated and illegal raid on President Trump\u2019s residence at Mar-a-Lago \u2013 where the FBI staged photographs to manufacture incriminating evidence \u2013 to justify its expanded activities&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">With respect to Mar-a-Lago, one Group member said there was \u201creason to be concerned about a violent reaction\u201d after the raid.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\"><strong>The group also discussed whether this is \u201cpolitically driven or in [their] mission space,\u201d <\/strong>and one group member noted they should be aware of the \u201cpublic optics\u201d of this activity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/GQ2qPxXXsAAm5e7_80.jpg?itok=ojD5xOwI\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">In considering threats of \u201cviolence,\u201d the group also discussed a hypothetical scenario in which \u201cthere is a shooting with 12 injured\u201d and whether that would require a national response from DHS and if it falls into a \u201cdomestic violent extremism\u201d category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a
