{"id":1474428,"date":"2024-06-30T15:05:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-30T19:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1474428"},"modified":"2024-06-30T15:05:00","modified_gmt":"2024-06-30T19:05:00","slug":"all-eyes-on-kamala","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/all-eyes-on-kamala\/1474428\/","title":{"rendered":"All Eyes On Kamala"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">All Eyes On Kamala<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>Following Joe Biden&#8217;s disastrous debate performance last Thursday, top Democrats who have been openly supporting the president&#8217;s 2024 campaign are privately pushing for him to <strong>step out of the race<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/00-lead-kamala-gop_80a.jpg?itok=rbHb3RHt\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to one source cited by <em>Axios<\/em>, his family can close advisors are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/political\/there-it-biden-family-now-expected-discuss-future-campaign-after-disaster-dementia-debate\">meeting today at Camp David<\/a> to decide<strong> whether to move forward or end his campaign early<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings our attention to <strong>Vice President Kamala Harris<\/strong> &#8211; <em>who polls <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/trump-vs-harris\">even worse<\/a> <\/em>than Biden in a matchup against former President Donald Trump, according to RealClearPolling.<em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Following last Thursday&#8217;s debate, <strong>Harris quickly took to the air to defend her running mate&#8217;s record and ability to perform his duties<\/strong> &#8211; however according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4746589-vice-president-harris-biden-debate\/\"><em>The Hill<\/em><\/a> she has also been central to conversations among some Democrats over whether Biden should step aside &#8211; putting her at the top of the ticket in November.<\/p>\n<p>Harris &#8211; whose most notable failure as &#8216;<strong>border czar&#8217;<\/strong> would certainly come under scrutiny in a Trump vs. Harris election, must now seek to reassure Democrats about their party&#8217;s chances of success.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>The next 30 days it may be up to her to make the case. People will be looking to her and testing her to see if she\u2019s ready<\/strong>,&#8221; one Democratic donor told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Another Democrat who served in the Obama White House said that Harris &#8220;clearly has a purpose now to make the case for what they have accomplished,&#8221; adding &#8220;This is the transitional moment where both she and Biden have their hands on the baton, but clearly <strong>she will be needed to complete the race<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Many Democrats\u00a0quickly\u00a0panned Biden\u2019s showing and raised the idea that he should step aside<\/strong> ahead of the party\u2019s August convention.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>That left Harris\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4745149-harris-defends-biden-debate-cnn\/\">to defend<\/a>\u00a0her running mate <\/strong>on\u00a0the same networks\u00a0where anchors and pundits were <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4745060-democrats-cnn-pundits-replace-biden\/\">discussing the prospect<\/a>\u00a0of Biden leaving the ticket.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cPeople can debate on style points, but <strong>ultimately this election and who is the president of the United States has to be about substance<\/strong>,\u201d said Harris, who conceded Biden had a \u201cslow start.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The vice president was not asked about, nor did she address, the elephant in the room: <strong>That she would be the likeliest candidate to replace Biden should he step aside<\/strong>. -The Hill<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Harris&#8217; team dismissed the notion that the Democratic ticket won&#8217;t include Biden.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Vice President Harris looks forward to serving a second term with President Joe Biden,&#8221; said Harris spokesman Ernie Apreza in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Harris<\/strong>, who launched her career as former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown&#8217;s side-piece, ran for President in 2019 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/11\/29\/us\/politics\/kamala-harris-2020.html\">dropping out<\/a> before the Iowa caucuses due to <strong>polling in the single digits<\/strong> and reports that <strong>she treats her staff like shit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly,&#8221; said former staffer Kelly Mehlenbacher in a blistering resignation letter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Should Biden step aside<\/strong>, Democratic strategists have downplayed the notion of an open convention &#8211; arguing that Harris would be the logical choice, and <strong>warning of the risks of passing over a black woman <\/strong>already on the ticket for another candidate such as California Governor Gavin Newsom &#8211; who would be viewed as a &#8216;white male savior&#8217; inserted into the race.<\/p>\n<p>As Vice President, <strong>Harris has been an abject disaster<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/23\/vp-kamala-harris-has-abandoned-border-czar-role\/\">failing miserably<\/a> as Biden&#8217;s <strong>&#8216;border czar&#8217;<\/strong> who presided over the influx of tens of millions of illegal migrants flooding into the United States.
