Big Mexican Cartels Ramp Up Operations In Hawaii As America’s Fentanyl Crisis Broadens<\/span><\/p>\n

Mexican drug cartels, including Sinaloa and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), are aggressively expanding into Hawaii, flooding the islands with\u00a0methamphetamines and fentanyl.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Local authorities told media outlet\u00a0KHON2<\/a> that\u00a0Sinaloa and\u00a0CJNG are expanding business in the island state by sending drugs via\u00a0passengers’ luggage, mailed packages, and body carriers flying into Honolulu International Airport.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Drug cartels from Mexico are operating in Hawaii, making and pushing deadly drugs including methamphetamines and fentanyl.<\/p>\n

“Violent cartels, primarily the Sinaloa cartel and the Jalisco New Generation cartels, and they’re killing each other,” explained\u00a0Gary Yabuta, executive director of the Hawaii High-Density Drug Trafficking Area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yabuta said,\u00a0“They’re competing for territory and turf to make sure that their drugs get across the border and sent throughout the nation, including Hawaii.”<\/p>\n

US Attorney Clare Connors told the local media outlet that\u00a0Sinaloa and\u00a0CJNG are primarily behind the new push in flooding\u00a0Hawaii with drugs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Largely, however, it is cartel interaction with local drug trafficking organizations,”\u00a0Connors said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yabuta said,\u00a0“Methamphetamine is still our greatest drug threat here in Hawaii, and that has risen, too throughout the years, including 2023 drug-related deaths,” adding,\u00a0“However, fentanyl drug-related deaths are catching up. It’s rising at a faster rate.”<\/p>\n

One of the main reasons cartels expand across the islands is the\u00a0lack of competition and law enforcement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NewsNation<\/a> noted, “An oxycodone pill selling for $2 in Los Angeles can fetch $16 or more in Hawaii.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Families Against Fentanyl, the surge in\u00a0fentanyl overdose deaths placed\u00a0Hawaii number seven nationally on a list with a 27% increase in\u00a0fentanyl-related deaths in 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, these same cartels are fueling the fentanyl epidemic across the Lower 48, resulting in a\u00a0US drug\u00a0death catastrophe that\u00a0eclipses the Vietnam War every six months.<\/p>\n

Last week, a new report from the Financial Times revealed details\u00a0about a dark Chinese money-laundering network<\/a> partnering with Mexican drug cartels.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In mid-April,\u00a0the House Select Committee on China\u00a0revealed<\/a> that\u00a0the Chinese Communist Party used tax rebates to\u00a0subsidize the manufacturing and exporting of fentanyl chemicals to overseas customers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The West Coast Coalition is comprised of law enforcement agencies from California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska,”\u00a0Peace Officers Research Assoc. of CA recently wrote on X.<\/p>\n

They continued, “We can’t sit here and continue to let our communities suffer.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
