The EU’s Planned Transformation Into A Military Union Is A Federalist Power Play<\/span><\/p>\n

Newly reappointed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen\u00a0just announced<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cit is now time to build a veritable union of defense\u201d, which Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0represents a marked change in priorities that\u2019ll intersect with NATO\u2019s interests. <\/strong>The EU\u2019s planned transformation into a military union is being sold to the public as a response to the protracted\u00a0Ukrainian Conflict<\/a>, but it\u2019s really a federalist power play that\u2019s designed to forever entrench German hegemony over the bloc.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

That country has sought to federalize the EU for years already, and despite some notable successes in getting member states to surrender significant parts of their sovereignty to Brussels, it\u2019s thus far failed to yield the expected results. This plan might also become more difficult to implement as two new groups have emerged in the European Parliament since the latest elections: the AfD-led \u201cEurope of Sovereign Nations\u201d and the Hungarian-led \u201cPatriots for Europe\u201d, both of which are fiercely against federalization.<\/p>\n

The only possible way to push through this agenda in the face of such growing opposition is to double down on anti-Russian fearmongering in the hopes that member states\u2019 ruling\u00a0liberal<\/a>–globalist<\/a>\u00a0elites will agree to federalize under the pretext of defending against a\u00a0supposedly impending invasion<\/a>.<\/strong> It\u2019s not directly stated, but the subtext is that NATO\u2019s American leader couldn\u2019t be relied upon to defend its allies in that event despite repeatedly reaffirming its commitment to Article 5\u2019s mutual defense obligations.<\/p>\n

The abovementioned fears can\u2019t be voiced aloud since the prior expression of such concerns was earlier smeared by the Mainstream Media as so-called \u201cRussian propaganda\u201d, but they might become more strongly implied as the US\u2019 upcoming presidential elections approach. Trump\u2019s reported plan for NATO, which readers can learn more about in detail\u00a0here<\/a>, calls for coercing members into raising their defense spending and assuming more responsibility for their immediate security interests vis-\u00e0-vis Russia.<\/p>\n

The preceding hyperlinked analysis argues that it\u2019s already being partially implemented by the Biden Administration as proven by Germany\u2019s \u201cFortress<\/a>\u00a0Europe<\/a>\u201d concept,<\/strong> which amounts to it becoming the continent\u2019s military powerhouse with full US support so as to facilitate America\u2019s \u201cPivot (back) to Asia\u201d. Late January\u2019s \u201cmilitary Schengen<\/a>\u201d, last month\u2019s \u201cEU defense line<\/a>\u201d, and this month\u2019s agreement to\u00a0assume partial responsibility<\/a>\u00a0for Poland\u2019s border security are the most significant developments thus far.<\/p>\n

The next step is to consolidate Germany\u2019s military-strategic gains over the past half-year through von der Leyen\u2019s call for a military union, which would see German-controlled Brussels organizing the bloc\u2019s military-industrial needs across its 27 members, thus moving them closer to de facto federalization. Upon surrendering sovereignty over military policymaking, which some of them have proudly protected up until now, every other aspect of federalization would quickly fall into place shortly afterwards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That\u2019s why it\u2019s incumbent on the European Parliament\u2019s two newly formed conservative-nationalist groups to do their utmost within that body and inside their members\u2019 home countries to prevent their ruling liberal-globalist elites from going along with von der Leyen\u2019s military union plans.<\/p>\n

Their countries\u2019 futures are on the line and they\u2019ll either retain some of their sovereignty, however imperfect and partial it presently is, or lose it all and end up as a nondescript state in a German-led European Federation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
