{"id":1479264,"date":"2024-07-24T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-25T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1479264"},"modified":"2024-07-24T23:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T03:00:00","slug":"russia-could-ban-diesel-exports-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/russia-could-ban-diesel-exports-again\/1479264\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia Could Ban Diesel Exports Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Russia Could Ban Diesel Exports Again<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/Russia-Could-Ban-Diesel-Exports-Again.html\"><em>Authored by Tsvetana Paraskova via Oilprice.com,<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Russia is considering banning the export of diesel if prices rise further,<\/strong> Russian daily Kommersant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kommersant.ru\/doc\/6851022?from=top_main_6\">reported<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, citing several sources.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/Tnx%20Dan.jpg?itok=2_DPiAt_\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Russian government could ban diesel exports if prices spike in the near term, but no decision has been made yet, according to Kommersant\u2019s sources. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are no conditions for a complete ban on diesel shipments abroad yet, a source at a local oil company told the Russian daily.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The government is restoring a ban on gasoline exports from August 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the autumn of 2023, Russia banned exports of diesel and gasoline in an effort to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Energy-General\/Russia-Curbs-Gasoline-And-Diesel-Exports-To-Stabilize-Domestic-Prices.html\">stabilize domestic fuel prices<\/a>\u00a0in the face of soaring prices and shortages as crude oil rallied and the Russian ruble weakened. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prior to implementing the ban, Russia had raised mandatory supply volumes for motor gasoline and diesel fuel to deal with a supply crunch.<\/p>\n<p>These bans lasted only a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Russia reinstated a ban on gasoline shipments from March 1 but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/russia-lift-gasoline-export-ban-rbc-reports-2024-05-20\/\">lifted the restriction<\/a>\u00a0on May 20 as more refineries completed planned seasonal maintenance or emergency repairs after Ukrainian drone hits in the winter and early spring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At the end of March, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/Russia-Sees-No-Need-for-Diesel-Export-Ban-Novak-Says.html\">said<\/a>\u00a0the government doesn\u2019t plan to ban diesel exports again.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the time the supply and prices of diesel were stable.<\/p>\n<p>However, diesel demand and prices have increased in recent weeks, and, according to Kommersant\u2019s sources, the government could reinstate a ban on exports if prices continue to rise.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of gasoline exports, a ban will be renewed on August 1, Novak\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tass.com\/economy\/1820251\">said<\/a>\u00a0earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u201cWe have the embargo approved until September 1. An exception has been currently made for the month of July. The exception ends from August 1. The tacit ban on exports of petroleum products and gasoline will be restored.
