Apache Indian Named “Keanu Dude” Arrested For Causing A Massive Wildfire By Burning The American Flag<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, here’s a story we can safely say you’ve likely never heard before.<\/p>\n

An Apache Indian named “Keanu Dude” has been accused of starting a massive wildfire in the state of Arizona…by setting fire to the American flag.<\/p>\n

The wildfire eventually burned over 2,200 acres, according to a report by the New York Post<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dude was arrested Tuesday for allegedly starting the Watch Fire, the report says. The Post wrote the fire “burned 3.4 square miles, destroyed 21 homes, and forced over 400 people to evacuate reservation land before being contained last week, officials said.”<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

He was seen burning an American flag just before the wildfire started, according to the tribe’s police chief, Elliot Sneezy,\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>who did not provide a motive, the report said, citing Arizona Family.<\/p>\n

San Carlos Apache Tribe Chairman Terry Rambler commented:\u00a0\u201cIt saddens me deeply that a member of our Tribe has been charged with starting this fire that devastated our community.”<\/p>\n

\u201cArson is a senseless act that will never be tolerated under any circumstance. I am thankful for the swift and thorough investigation by tribal and federal law enforcement that has resulted in an arrest.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post wrote<\/a> that Dude was “unemployed” and “has a criminal record”. Go figure.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dude, where’s your motive?<\/a><\/p>\n

It added that\u00a0no information was released about Dude’s possible motive for starting the July 10 fire, which took a week to contain and led to a state of emergency east of Phoenix. The fire damaged power lines, causing an outage, and injured several animals, killing at least one pet.<\/p>\n

Rambler concluded:\u00a0\u201cWhile thankfully no one was injured, many face extreme hardship, losing their homes and all their possessions and were left with only the clothes on their back.”<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is imperative that everyone in our Tribe work together to overcome this criminal act and rebuild our community stronger and better than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
