Rutgers Prof Who Said She Hoped Trump Shooting Would “Inspire Others” Will Teach This Fall<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rutgers University<\/a> professor who was under an internal review after posts she made on Facebook following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, writing \u201cLet\u2019s hope today\u2019s events inspire others\u201d will teach this coming fall.<\/p>\n

A source provided C<\/em>ampus Reform<\/em> with screenshots of the Facebook posts, which were made by Rutgers University Writing Program Assistant Teaching Professor Tracy Budd<\/a> in the hours after someone tried to assassinate Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

\u201dLet\u2019s hope today\u2019s events inspire others,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Budd said in one post.<\/p>\n

\u201dThey shot his wig. Sad,\u201d <\/strong><\/em>Budd wrote in another.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Rutgers spokeswoman Megan Schumann told NJ.com<\/em><\/a> that Budd is scheduled to teach in the upcoming fall semester.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Previously, a Rutgers spokesperson told the\u00a0New York Post<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that Budd was the subject of an internal review.<\/p>\n

\u201cRutgers University-New Brunswick condemns calls for violence in the strongest possible terms and remains committed to upholding the principles of civil discourse,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> the university said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe university is reviewing this matter and assures that any appropriate actions will be taken based on our policies.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAs students, faculty and staff return to campus next month, the university will be communicating the importance of civility in these challenging times,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> the school added.<\/p>\n

According to the New York Post<\/em>, Budd makes over $72,000 at Rutgers.<\/p>\n

Budd\u2019s Facebook\u00a0<\/a>is now deleted, but her cover picture contained a poster at a protest that read: \u201cCapitalism will kill us all. Gender is fake. Eat garbage. Be free.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Budd is also the editor of Dialogues@RU<\/a>, an undergraduate research journal, \u201cwhich teaches students the crucial skills of critical reading and thinking, scholarly research, synthesis, and analytic writing across the disciplines.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
