{"id":1485962,"date":"2024-08-26T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-26T14:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1485962"},"modified":"2024-08-26T10:30:00","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T14:30:00","slug":"cornell-university-to-offer-course-on-ecological-justice-focused-on-feminist-queer-and-trans-perspectives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/cornell-university-to-offer-course-on-ecological-justice-focused-on-feminist-queer-and-trans-perspectives\/1485962\/","title":{"rendered":"Cornell University To Offer Course On &#8220;Ecological Justice&#8221; Focused On &#8220;Feminist, Queer, And Trans Perspectives&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Cornell University To Offer Course On &#8220;Ecological Justice&#8221; Focused On &#8220;Feminist, Queer, And Trans Perspectives&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><em>By Sarah Prentice of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article\/cornell-university-offer-course-ecological-justice-focused-feminist-queer-trans-perspectives\/26151\">Campus Reform<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/cornell+university\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cornell University<\/a> is set to offer a course on ecological justice from feminist, queer, and trans perspectives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/cornell%20university.jpg?itok=5LyWTHdi\"><em>Cornell University<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Ivy League school will teach a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/classes.cornell.edu\/browse\/roster\/FA24\/class\/FGSS\/2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cEcological Justice: Feminist, Queer, and Trans Perspectives\u201d<\/a> class that will <strong>present \u201can in-depth study of ecological justice from feminist, queer, and trans perspectives.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course claims it will unpack how these \u201cmarginalized\u201d groups have \u201cled environmental movements and ecological theorizing around the globe,\u201d as well as draw on the \u201ctraditions of ecofeminism, racial justice, queer and trans ecology, and disability theory\u201d to show how these perspectives have \u201creshaped environmental ethics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The course description also alleges: <em><strong>\u201cHistorically, people marginalized by race, gender, sexuality, disability, and poverty have borne the brunt of environmental degradation.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The course will be taught by <a href=\"https:\/\/as.cornell.edu\/people\/perry-zurn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Perry Zurn<\/a>, a society fellow at Cornell University.
