{"id":1486003,"date":"2024-08-26T13:05:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-26T17:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1486003"},"modified":"2024-08-26T13:05:00","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T17:05:00","slug":"ucla-medical-school-hired-students-to-write-course-curriculum-emphasizing-structural-racism-and-health-equity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/ucla-medical-school-hired-students-to-write-course-curriculum-emphasizing-structural-racism-and-health-equity\/1486003\/","title":{"rendered":"UCLA Medical School Hired Students To Write Course Curriculum Emphasizing &#8220;Structural Racism And Health Equity&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">UCLA Medical School Hired Students To Write Course Curriculum Emphasizing &#8220;Structural Racism And Health Equity&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><em>By Justin Choi of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article\/ucla-medical-school-hired-students-write-course-curriculum-emphasizing-structural-racism-health-equity\/26149\">Campus Reform<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The University of California, Los Angeles Medical School <strong>hired students to write the curriculum for the school\u2019s required Structural Racism and Health Equity (SRHE) courses.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/UCLA%20campus%20reform.jpg?itok=L42WGDzS\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A June 2023 document that was obtained by Do No Harm, a medical and policy advocacy group, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3020882\/ucla-medical-school-left-wing-course-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">showed<\/a> that UCLA\u2019s medical school was seeking to recruit first and second year medical students to develop a curriculum associated with liberal ideas such as critical race theory.<\/p>\n<p>The SRHE curriculum \u201cemphasizes critical race theory, queer theory\u201d and \u201cdiversity, equity, and inclusion ideology.\u201d The university\u2019s SRHE <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/srhe_course_guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">course guide<\/a> directly states: <em><strong>\u201cThe first section of the year will focus on \u2026 how structural determinants of health such as race shape our present healthcare framework.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The document outlined that in order to apply, applicants must have a letter of support from a peer outlining their commitment to anti-racist work.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of Do No Harm, Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, told the\u00a0<em>Washington Examiner<\/em> that<strong> UCLA\u2019s plan to recruit students to \u201cdevelop curriculum in training other medical students is a terrible idea.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He argued that first-year students would not be appropriate mentors when most freshman students never even have treated a patient to begin with.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>      <span class=\"field field--name-uid field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden\"><a title=\"View user profile.\" href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/users\/tyler-durden\" class=\"username\">Tyler Durden<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"field field--name-created field--type-created field--label-hidden\">Mon, 08\/26\/2024 &#8211;
