But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/33065\/countries-with-the-largest-populations\/\">as Statista&#8217;s Anna Fleck details below,<\/a> according to <a href=\"https:\/\/population.un.org\/wpp\/\">data<\/a>\u00a0by the United Nations, <strong>come the turn of the century, the balance will be less clear cut<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/33065\/countries-with-the-largest-populations\/\" title=\"Infographic: The Biggest Countries in the World in 2100 | Statista\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>You will find more infographics at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chartoftheday\/\">Statista<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>In 2020, five out of the ten most populous countries in the world were located in Asia<\/strong> &#8211; China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh &#8211; while two were in Latin America, one was in Africa and one in North America.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Come 2100, four African nations will place in the world\u2019s top ten<\/strong>: Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.<\/p>\n<p>While some Asian countries will continue to grow, they will do so at a lower rate and will be surpassed in population by African countries exhibiting faster growth.
