Nor in any future presidential election. <strong>We are returning to our roots<\/strong> of not endorsing presidential candidates,&#8221; the outlet said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>new: Washington Post publisher Will Lewis explains why The Post won\u2019t be endorsing for president<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Zn0o655UIz\">pic.twitter.com\/Zn0o655UIz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ben Mullin (@BenMullin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BenMullin\/status\/1849843723636531540?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 25, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Colleagues are said to be &#8216;shocked&#8217; at the decision<\/strong>, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/10\/25\/nx-s1-5165353\/washingon-post-presidential-endorsement-trump-harris\"><em>NPR<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The editorial page editor, David Shipley, told colleagues that the Post&#8217;s publisher, Will Lewis, would publish a note to readers online early Friday afternoon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Shipley told colleagues the editorial board was told yesterday by management that <strong>there would not be an endorsement<\/strong>.
