“Moderate Jihad”: Syrians ‘Excited’ Over Public Executions<\/span><\/p>\n

After lauding how the overthrow of Assad in Syria would bring about \u201cmoderate jihad,\u201d the BBC highlighted how thousands of \u2018excited\u2019 Syrians turned out to see a public execution.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Since Syrian rebel leader Abu Mohammed al-Jolani led his militants to topple Assad\u2019s government, the legacy media has been busy rebranding al-Jolani and his cohorts as westernized and tolerant, with al-Jolani even adopting the rhetoric of corporate HR departments by declaring, \u201cDiversity is a strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the BBC\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0that al-Jolani and his HTS fighters wanted to usher in a form of \u201cmoderate jihad,\u201d<\/strong> despite the fact that the rebel leader was previously affiliated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda, was radicalized by 9\/11, and previously planted roadside IEDs targeting US troops in Iraq.<\/p>\n

Apparently, one manifestation of this \u201cmoderate jihad\u201d is the lust for extrajudicial public executions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The BBC\u2019s Jeremy Bowen reported on how a huge group of Syrians had gathered to see one of Assad\u2019s military intelligence operatives be publicly hanged.<\/p>\n

Thousands of Syrians almost caused a stampede as they congregated expecting to see the individual executed.<\/p>\n

The BBC\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that the crowd were \u201cjostling for the best position, not wanting to miss a thing,\u201d and shared a \u201creal strong sense of excitement, expectation\u201d at the prospect of witnessing the hanging.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey don\u2019t just want justice to be done, they want to see it being done,\u201d said Bowen.<\/p>\n

Another example of \u201cmoderate jihad\u201d unfolded in Syria when Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) destroyed the tomb of the late president Hafez al-Assad, which also contained the remains of his wife and eldest son, by burning it to the ground.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, since the overthrow of Assad, innumerable horrific videos have emerged of Syrian rebel militants executing alleged Assad sympathizers in cold blood.<\/p>\n
