Andreessen discussed his role in assisting Trump with assembling the next administration and provided a glimpse into what it\u2019s like to spend time with the incoming commander-in-chief. During the two-hour conversation, <strong>Andreessen also revisited his experience with Biden administration officials, claiming the government expressed the\u00a0orwellian desire to take &#8220;complete control&#8221; over AI development in the United States.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/marc%20a.JPG?itok=YkFPbMFu\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>I\u2019m an unpaid volunteer<\/strong>,\u201d Andreessen said when asked by Weiss about his reported involvement. A recent report from <em>The Washington Post<\/em> revealed that Andreessen, along with fellow Silicon Valley titans Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick and Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale, is contributing to the ambitious program. Andreessen outlined DOGE\u2019s two chief objectives: slashing spending and reducing regulations.<\/p>\n<p>.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pmarca?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@pmarca<\/a> tells <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bariweiss?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@bariweiss<\/a> he&#8217;s an &#8220;unpaid volunteer&#8221; for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DOGE?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@DOGE<\/a>: &#8220;They are going to cut as much costs as they possibly can and do the same thing for regulations.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fpSmDiIBU7\">pic.twitter.com\/fpSmDiIBU7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CAPITAL (@capitalnewshq) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/capitalnewshq\/status\/1866504376732569896?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 10, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s basically two big parts to it,\u201d Andreessen explained. <strong>\u201cOne is they&#8217;re going to do a top-to-bottom review of government spending, and they&#8217;re going to cut as much cost as they possibly can<\/strong>. They have a whole theory and strategy on that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn conjunction with that and related to it, they&#8217;re going to do the same thing for regulations,\u201d the billionaire continued. \u201cThey&#8217;re going to do a top-to-bottom review of the regulatory\u2014what they call the regulatory state or the administrative state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>The connective tissue there, that they don&#8217;t talk about in public, is actually quite important. <\/strong>A lot of the reaction of the Doge from institutional Washington is like, well, that&#8217;s impossible, you can&#8217;t do that; there are all these laws, statutes, and regulations,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Andreessen, along with his A16z co-founder Ben Horowitz, endorsed Trump during the final stretch of the 2024 election. Since Trump\u2019s victory, Andreessen revealed to Weiss that he has spent a great day of time at Mar-a-Lago and the Palm Beach area, assisting the 47th leader of the free world with assembling his administration.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>While Andreessen said he has spent \u201cmaybe half [his] time\u201d at Mar-a-Lago since the election, he is quick to clarify his position:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>I\u2019m not claiming to be in the middle of all the decision-making, but I\u2019ve been trying to help in as many ways as I can<\/strong>,\u201d the tech titan told Weiss. Andreessen explained that his contributions focus on areas where his expertise aligns with Trump\u2019s agenda, including tech policy, business, and economic development. \u201cWhen I talk about these things, <strong>it\u2019s around, as I said, tech policy, business, economics, and then, you know, the health of the country, the success of the country<\/strong>,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Andreessen shared his observations of Trump\u2019s warm personal approach, highlighting qualities that he believes are often overlooked by his Democrat critics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Everybody says this who meets with him, but he\u2019s an incredible host<\/strong>,\u201d Andreessen remarked. \u201cFor however people think, whatever, he\u2019s an incredible host. He runs his own private worlds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What stood out most to Andreessen was Trump\u2019s ability to connect with people from all walks of life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>He treats everybody the same and talks to everybody,<\/strong>\u201d Andreessen said. \u201cHe will happily talk to distinguished visitors about who the Vice President should be, and then he\u2019ll ask the caddy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on his involvement in the transition process, Andreessen noted the exceptional caliber of candidates he encountered. \u201cThe caliber of a lot of the people that I\u2019ve met has been very high,\u201d he said, adding that recent appointments, particularly at the next level down in staff positions, have included \u201cvery impressive people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pmarca?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@pmarca<\/a> tells <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bariweiss?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@bariweiss<\/a> he&#8217;s helping Trump team vet candidates for administration roles, noting caliber is &#8220;very high&#8221; and better than previous term. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Obtd8sqvrF\">pic.twitter.com\/Obtd8sqvrF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CAPITAL (@capitalnewshq) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/capitalnewshq\/status\/1866508407811043583?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 10, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Addressing concerns about whether qualified individuals might hesitate to join a Trump administration due to the controversies surrounding his previous term,<strong> Andreessen said he has observed the opposite trend: \u201cI think the flow of qualified people from outside the system now is actually much stronger.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yet another mainstream media narrative busted.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing also reiterated that his support for Trump stemmed from a series of \u201chorrifying\u201d meeting in which Biden officials expressed plans to control AI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;They said, look, AI is a technology basically that the government is going to completely control,&#8221;<\/strong> Andreessen revealed.
