{"id":1512069,"date":"2025-01-06T18:20:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-06T23:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1512069"},"modified":"2025-01-06T18:20:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T23:20:00","slug":"us-govt-places-tencent-on-military-blacklist-sending-shares-tumbling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/us-govt-places-tencent-on-military-blacklist-sending-shares-tumbling\/1512069\/","title":{"rendered":"US Gov&#8217;t Places Tencent On Military Blacklist, Sending Shares Tumbling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">US Gov&#8217;t Places Tencent On Military Blacklist, Sending Shares Tumbling <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>Tencent Holdings Ltd. tumbled in the early afternoon trading in New York after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-01-06\/us-adds-tencent-to-chinese-military-blacklist-shares-decline?srnd=homepage-europe\">Bloomberg<\/a> report revealed that the US Defense Department had designated the company as a Chinese military entity operating within the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WeChat parent Tencent was among several companies, including Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., chipmaker Changxin Memory Technologies Inc., Quectel Wireless, and drone maker Autel Robotics, which were designated as Chinese military entities in a Federal Register filing.<\/p>\n<p>This disclosure, made through an annually updated &#8220;Section 1260H list,&#8221; now features 134 companies, according to the filing.<\/p>\n<p>Section 1260H refers to a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.
