{"id":1530430,"date":"2025-04-15T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T14:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1530430"},"modified":"2025-04-15T10:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T14:30:00","slug":"somali-criminal-allowed-to-stay-in-uk-because-deportation-would-stress-him-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/somali-criminal-allowed-to-stay-in-uk-because-deportation-would-stress-him-out\/1530430\/","title":{"rendered":"Somali Criminal Allowed To Stay In UK Because Deportation Would &#8220;Stress&#8221; Him Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Somali Criminal Allowed To Stay In UK Because Deportation Would &#8220;Stress&#8221; Him Out<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/modernity.news\/2025\/04\/14\/somali-criminal-allowed-to-stay-in-uk-because-deportation-would-stress-him-out\"><em>Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news,<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>In yet another incredulous case, the British justice system has decided in its infinite wisdom that a Somali criminal will be allowed to stay in the UK because returning him to his home country would cause him too much \u201cstress\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/criminalUK.jpg?itok=VhLtxkvI\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes, really.<\/p>\n<p>The Telegraph reports that <strong>a judge in the upper immigration tribunal ruled that the asylum seeker would suffer \u201cstress\u201d if deported to his homeland<\/strong>, which would worsen his mental health, thereby breaching article three of the\u00a0European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), which protects against persecution and inhumane treatment.<\/p>\n<p>A Somali criminal seeking asylum in the UK has avoided deportation after a judge ruled that returning him to his home country would cause him too much \u201cstress\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WbGKmbQ8Ab\">https:\/\/t.co\/WbGKmbQ8Ab<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Telegraph (@Telegraph) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Telegraph\/status\/1910714532260966424?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 11, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The unnamed man, jailed for unspecified crimes, is a schizophrenic who hears voices, and has also been\u00a0dependent on alcohol\u00a0for almost twenty years, according to the report, another factor which led to him being allowed to stay in the country since arriving way back in 1999.<\/p>\n<p>The Home Office has argued that the man, who has been granted anonymity, would be able to get medications he needs in his home country, but the judge still ruled against them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The man is described as having a \u201chigh level of vulnerability\u201d and \u201ccomplex needs\u201d with \u201cthe severity of his mental health problems closely linked to his stress levels and use of alcohol,\u201d according to the tribunal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lawyers assigned to the guy argued that he has \u201cno real prospect\u201d of returning to Mogadishu and making a living and that any financial support he would receive would be \u201climited\u201d, and that he has a \u201chistory of being financially exploited\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Home Office has a program to offer financial support to foreign criminals being deported through the Facilitated Return Scheme. In other words, the government even offered to pay for the guy\u2019s rehabilitation in Somalia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cEvidence from doctors suggested the man could \u201cbecome well\u201d if he abstained from alcohol and complied with his medication,\u201d the report notes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yet, Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge Ian Jarvis said \u201cI conclude that the weight of the evidence before the Tribunal indicates that the [man] will very quickly become noncompliant with his medication.. without the 24\/7 support and monitoring which he currently receives in the United Kingdom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The judge upheld the appeal and ruled that the man\u2019s mental health would \u201cseriously deteriorate\u201d if he were returned to Somalia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Commenters on the report were not impressed by the judge\u2019s decision:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/Screenshot-2025-04-14-at-12.32.4.jpg?itok=C9D6fixH\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The report further notes that its another in a long list of convicted foreign criminals attempting and in many cases succeeding in halting their deportations by\u00a0claiming breaches of their human rights.<\/p>\n<p>There are currently a record 41,987 outstanding immigration appeals,\u00a0largely on human rights grounds.<\/p>\n<p>As we highlighted last month, a convicted pedophile has escaped deportation from the UK to his native country of Pakistan after a judge ruled that he would face\u00a0\u201cinhuman or degrading treatment\u201d\u00a0there for being an alcoholic.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>This case follows similar incidents, including one just last month where\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/news\/migrant-crisis-pakistani-allowed-stay-britain-preying-young-girls-wife\">another Pakistani pedo was permitted to remain in the UK<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0a judge ruling that deportation would be \u201cunduly harsh\u201d owing to the fact that his family in Pakistan took a \u201cdim view\u201d of his crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Conservative MP Sir Alec Shelbrooke urged that <em><strong>\u201cThe Government needs to stop dangerous criminals being allowed to stay in this country.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0 *\u00a0 *<\/p>\n<p><em>Your support is crucial in helping us defeat mass censorship.
