Replaces Them With &#8216;Diverse&#8217; Dawbings<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/modernity.news\/2025\/04\/14\/british-pm-starmer-purges-historical-artworks-replaces-them-with-diverse-dawbings\"><em>Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news,<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>British Prime Minister Kier Starmer has removed scores of historical artworks from 10 Downing Street and replaced them with objectively awful drawings in the name of \u2018diversity\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/dawbings.jpg?itok=Dpw8nMrm\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The works Starmer ordered pulled down as part of the cultural purge include portraits of William\u00a0Shakespeare, Winston Churchill,\u00a0William Ewart Gladstone,\u00a0Margaret Thatcher, Sir Walter Raleigh,\u00a0and past British monarchs including Elizabeth I.<\/p>\n<p>The leftist leader has replaced paintings of those historical figures with what can only be described as ugly doodles by \u2018modern artists\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>British PM Keir Starmer has removed 69 paintings of British royalty, Churchill and Shakespeare inside Downing Street, the official residence of the British PM.<\/p>\n<p>Paintings of notable British historical figures have instead been replaced with \u2018woke\u2019 modern art reflecting\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sPMf89Uqo9\">pic.twitter.com\/sPMf89Uqo9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Oli London (@OliLondonTV) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OliLondonTV\/status\/1911403745960927339?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-14603461\/majestic-paintings-royalty-Churchill-Shakespeare-ditched-No10-wokerati-art.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Daily Mail<\/a> reports:<\/p>\n<p><em>Sir <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/keir-starmer\/index.html\">Keir Starmer<\/a> was last night accused of being in thrall to \u2018the wokerati\u2019 after the full list of the paintings removed from No10 since he moved in was revealed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Portraits of historic figures such as Elizabeth 1, Mary, Queen of Scots, Sir Walter Raleigh and William Shakespeare were among the 69 works of art \u2018deinstalled\u2019 from the Government Art Collection since the election.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The revelation comes after a long Freedom of Information battle with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/conservatives\/index.html\">Tories<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Among their replacements are Altar, a scene from the 2023 Falmouth Reggae Festival in Cornwall by Denzil Forrester.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Other paintings include All Things Being Equal, by the Nigerian abstract artist Nengi Omuku, which \u2019employs the human body as a medium to convey internal experiences\u2019 by \u2018using oil paint on strips of Sanyanan indigenous fabric from pre-colonial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/nigeria\/index.html\">Nigeria<\/a>\u2018.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then there is Almond Clasp by the British-Ghanaian Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, who specialises in \u2018brooding portraits of Black life\u2019, and Still (III) by Christina Kimeze, who currently has an exhibition \u2018inspired by the resurgence of roller skating in Black communities\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>10 Downing Street, the official residence of the Prime Minister isn\u2019t even open to the British public, so this move by Starmer isn\u2019t even a virtue signalling stunt.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s presumably just because he can\u2019t stand to be surrounded by British historical culture.<\/p>\n<p>No one hates England and English people more than Kier Starmer<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ninety Degrees (@quasiantipodean) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/quasiantipodean\/status\/1911406122214236500?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Indeed, he described the Thatcher portrait as \u201cunsettling\u201d and remarked that he did not want to be stared down upon by a painting.<\/p>\n<p>Outrage as Sir Keir Starmer removes \u00a3100,000 portrait of Margaret Thatcher in &#8216;petty&#8217;
