Bill Maher Tells Charlie Kirk What’s Really Destroying The Democratic Party<\/span><\/p>\n

On the\u00a0latest episode of\u00a0<\/a>Club Random<\/a><\/em>, Bill Maher sat down with Turning Point USA founder\u00a0Charlie Kirk<\/a>\u00a0for what many expected to be a clash of political opposites.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

But what unfolded was something far more surprising: a candid, wide-ranging conversation that revealed just how much common ground these two actually share\u2014especially when it comes to calling out the modern left.<\/p>\n

It kicked off with a sharp joke from Kirk, who warned\u00a0Maher<\/a>\u00a0that the \u201cpurple-hair jihadis\u201d would be coming for him next.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to kill me just as bad. Oh, they really do!\u201d\u00a0Maher<\/a>\u00a0responded. He explained, \u201cThey hate their own apostates more<\/strong>. I\u2019m supposed to get on the short bus to crazy town with them\u2014and I won\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

From there, Maher began to draw a clear line between classic liberal values and what he called the \u201cwoke\u201d ideology taking over the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am one of them! They\u2019re not one of me,\u201d he said. \u201cLiberal and woke are two completely different things\u2014woke is very often the opposite.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher explained, \u201cLiberalism is,\u00a0let\u2019s live in a colorblind society<\/strong>. That\u2019s the goal. Woke\u2019s goal is, \u2018We see race everywhere<\/strong>.\u2019 Liberal is, \u2018There\u2019s a two-state solution.\u2019 Woke is \u2018river to the sea.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Then came a line that cut to the core of his frustration: \u201cYou got off the F-train, you fell asleep, and you got off at 20 stops too far. Don\u2019t blame me for that<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

What started as a typical podcast on Club Random quickly turned into something way more revealing. @charliekirk11<\/a> and Bill Maher weren\u2019t clashing on everything\u2014they were connecting over one uncomfortable truth: the woke cult is tearing the country apart.<\/p>\n

The conversation pivoted to an issue even some liberals are struggling to defend: women\u2019s sports. Kirk praised Maher for speaking out.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou deserve credit for being a liberal that acknowledges male-female distinctions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, of course! Of all the low-lying fruit the Democrats just hand the Republicans to win elections, that\u2019s the one,\u201d Maher responded.<\/p>\n

Kirk grinned and asked, \u201cAre they really gonna let us win every national election on this no-men-in-women\u2019s-sports thing?\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher answered bluntly: \u201cIt\u2019s so ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n

He cited the stat that\u00a0890 trophies had already gone to biological males competing in women\u2019s events<\/strong>\u2014and even pointed out that California\u2019s own Gavin Newsom had backed away from the debate.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou lost Gavin Newsom on this,\u201d he said. \u201cTake that as a hint.\u201d<\/p>\n

The conversation then shifted\u2014this time to an issue even many liberals have started to question\u2014\u2014sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou deserve credit for being a liberal that acknowledges male-female distinctions,\u201d Kirk said.<\/p>\n

Maher didn\u2019t hesitate:<\/p>\n

Then came the part no one saw coming. Maher opened up about a recent dinner he had with President Trump\u2014and pushed back on the idea that engaging with him was somehow off-limits.<\/p>\n

\u201cI voted for Obama, I voted for Clinton,\u201d Maher said. \u201cBut the idea that I could talk to them as freely as I felt this conversation was going, is\u00a0emblematic to me of why the Democrats lose the elections<\/strong>. Because they just don\u2019t feel that this is like a real person.\u201d<\/p>\n

He got even more honest: \u201cAnd I know it\u2019s so weird to say that about Donald Trump, who I\u2019ve said a jillion times is, you know, a whiny little b*tch, I could go through my greatest hits of insults. But this was about getting past that and maybe seeing that if we met in person, we don\u2019t hate each other as much. And we don\u2019t!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry,\u00a0I\u2019m not going to pretend that\u2019s a bad thing<\/strong>,\u201d Maher added.<\/p>\n

Then came the part no one saw coming.<\/p>\n

Maher acknowledged his dinner with President Trump\u2014and made it clear he wasn\u2019t going to pretend it was a bad thing.<\/p>\n

That’s when he dropped the line about Trump that will have Democrats in shambles:<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Kirk delivered a line that stopped the conversation cold.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou had more moral courage than pastors I know who went along with the woke crazy train,\u201d he said. \u201cYou deserve credit for that\u2014because it came at a high cost.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher nodded in agreement. For a moment, the two ideological opposites sounded completely in sync. Maher didn\u2019t sugarcoat his assessment of what\u2019s dragging his party down.<\/p>\n

\u201cUntil we get rid of that sh*t,\u00a0they\u2019re never going to win another election<\/strong>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kirk replied, \u201cThey\u2019re not going to take political advice from me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher responded, \u201cNo, but they might from me. Not the 10%\u2014but that\u2019s 10%. They\u2019re very loud, but that\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then came a quote that\u2019s never felt more relevant: \u201cAs FDR once said, \u2018I welcome their hatred.<\/strong>\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Kirk hit Maher with a line that stopped the conversation cold\u2014and sparked one of the most powerful moments of their exchange.<\/p>\n
