And it is: in interviews with the Financial Times and via dozens of social media posts, <strong>workers shared pictures of quiet production lines or factory suspension notices, highlighting how the tariffs are starting to bite.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, according to <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rfa.org\/english\/china\/2025\/04\/29\/china-us-tariff-protests-workers-wages\/\">Radio Free Asia<\/a>, <strong>protests are erupting across China<\/strong> &#8211; from Hunan\u2019s Dao County to Sichuan\u2019s Suining City and Inner Mongolia\u2019s Tongliao. Hundreds of enraged workers are storming the streets, blasting unpaid wages and wrongful firings as factories collapse under the crushing force of President Trump\u2019s relentless U.S. tariffs, the news outlet said.<\/p>\n<p>One video shared to X showed angry workers shouting \u201cStrike! Bloomberg News reported this week that China has quietly lifted $40 billion in retaliatory tariffs on 131 U.S. import items, including pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals.<\/p>\n<p>In a Sunday interview with <em>Fox News<\/em>, Trump said that he will not lower <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-says-he-not-drop-tariffs-get-china-negotiating-table\">tariffs on China<\/a>\u00a0to entice Beijing to negotiate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>They said today they want to talk. Look, China, and I don&#8217;t like this. I&#8217;m not happy about this. China&#8217;s getting killed right now<\/strong>,&#8221; Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-says-he-not-drop-tariffs-get-china-negotiating-table\">told<\/a> host NBC&#8217;s &#8220;Meet The Press&#8221; host Kristen Welker. &#8220;They&#8217;re getting absolutely destroyed. Their factories are closing. Their unemployment is going through the roof. I&#8217;m not looking to do that to China now.
