{"id":1536940,"date":"2025-05-19T17:45:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T21:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1536940"},"modified":"2025-05-19T17:45:00","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T21:45:00","slug":"goldman-raises-oil-demand-outlook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/goldman-raises-oil-demand-outlook\/1536940\/","title":{"rendered":"Goldman Raises Oil Demand Outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Goldman Raises Oil Demand Outlook<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Crude-Oil\/Goldman-Raises-Oil-Demand-Outlook.html\"><em>Authored by Irina Slav via OilPrice.com,<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Goldman Sachs has increased its global oil demand forecast but maintained its price predictions for Brent crude and WTI for the current year, despite current trading values exceeding those projections.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The potential for a US-Iran nuclear deal and the progression of the tariff war are significant factors creating uncertainty in the oil market, influencing forecasts and potential price fluctuations.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Future oil prices could drop significantly if the tariff war worsens and OPEC Plus restores its previously cut oil supply, according to Goldman Sachs analysts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Goldman Sachs analysts have revised their outlook for global oil demand upwards, now expecting growth of 600,000 barrels daily this year and 400,000 barrels daily in 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/2025-05-19_iflzrox3yk.jpg?itok=F5BykUMd\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The bank, however, maintained its oil price forecast at $60 per barrel of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/oil-price-charts\/\">Brent crude<\/a>\u00a0and $56 per barrel of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/oil-price-charts\/\">West Texas Intermediate<\/a>\u00a0for this year, <\/strong>Reuters reported, citing a new note.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brent crude was trading at over $65 per barrel at the time of writing, and WTI was trading at over $62.<\/p>\n<p>Goldman\u2019s analysts expect the benchmarks to fall further next year, to $56 for Brent crude and $52 for WTI.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>A big reason for the bearish outlook is the nuclear deal between the U.S. and Iran that recently became a more distinct possibility than it was until now.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday, President Trump the two sides were really close to sealing such a deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The news dealt a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Oil-Prices\/Oil-Prices-Sink-4-on-Hints-of-US-Iran-Deal.html\">blow<\/a>\u00a0to oil prices.<\/p>\n<p>Later\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/commodities\/oil-little-changed-investors-eye-iran-us-talks-china-data-2025-05-19\/\">updates<\/a>, however, tamed any optimism as they revealed persistent differences between the two sides on what conditions they would accept. The U.S. side insists on Iran committing to stop any uranium enrichment activities.
