{"id":1537392,"date":"2025-05-21T23:40:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T03:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1537392"},"modified":"2025-05-21T23:40:00","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T03:40:00","slug":"putin-has-mission-accomplished-moment-in-touring-liberated-kursk-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/putin-has-mission-accomplished-moment-in-touring-liberated-kursk-region\/1537392\/","title":{"rendered":"Putin Has &#8216;Mission Accomplished&#8217; Moment In Touring Liberated Kursk Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Putin Has &#8216;Mission Accomplished&#8217; Moment In Touring Liberated Kursk Region<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>On Tuesday into Wednesday Russian President Vladimir Putin <strong>had a &#8216;mission accomplished&#8217; moment by visiting Kursk region for the first time\u00a0since its full liberation<\/strong> from Ukrainian forces.<\/p>\n<p>It was in late April which Putin first announced that all Ukrainian troops have been booted out and retreated, after their risky cross-border raid which started in early August, and resulted in over six months of Ukraine forces occupying hundreds of square kilometers of Russian land.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/putinkursk1.jpg?itok=SsmN48SB\"><em>Kremlin.Ru, via Reuters<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still, in touring some industrial sites in Kursk, including\u00a0the construction site of the <strong>new Kursk 2 nuclear power plant<\/strong> in the city of Kurchatov, he admitted that the situation in the Kursk border region <strong>remains &#8220;difficult&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine has continued sending drones on a weekly basis into these southern regions, and there&#8217;s the <strong>constant threat of cross-border shelling<\/strong>, and even ongoing attempts at limited ground incursions. These border threats are far from fully over.<\/p>\n<p>Moscow had controversially deployed thousands of North Korean troops to Kursk over the last several months in order to help national forces drive out the Ukrainian occupiers.<\/p>\n<p>Putin during the visit also held meetings with Governor Aleksandr Khinshtein and local officials on Tuesday, the Kremlin and state media said.
