{"id":1541662,"date":"2025-06-14T00:10:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-14T04:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1541662"},"modified":"2025-06-14T00:10:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T04:10:00","slug":"the-most-common-reasons-not-to-have-kids-are-financial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/the-most-common-reasons-not-to-have-kids-are-financial\/1541662\/","title":{"rendered":"The Most Common Reasons Not To Have Kids Are Financial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">The Most Common Reasons Not To Have Kids Are Financial<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unfpa.org\/sites\/default\/files\/pub-pdf\/swp25-layout-en-v250609-web.pdf\">A new survey by the UN Population Fund<\/a>\u00a0shows that the most common reasons people name for not having more children are financial in nature.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/34607\/most-common-reason-for-not-having-children\/\">As Statista&#8217;s Katharina Buchholz reports, <\/a>among 14 countries surveyed, respondents named<strong> financial limitations or job instability as the most common reasons to have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/topics\/9851\/global-demographics\/\">fewer children<\/a>\u00a0than they desired in all. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Commonly, financial reasons, also including housing and childcare costs, made up the top 2 or even top 3 of the issues most often cited for lower fertility, for example in India, Indonesia, South Korea, South Africa, Brazil, Morocco, Hungary and Germany.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chart\/34607\/most-common-reason-for-not-having-children\/\" title=\"Infographic: The Most Common Reasons Not to Have Children Are Financial | Statista\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>You will find more infographics at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/chartoftheday\/\">Statista<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/topics\/5931\/demographics-of-south-korea\/\">In South Korea<\/a>, the country with the lowest fertility rate in the world, many respondents agreed that the cost of childrearing was prohibitive. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In developing countries, common and mostly financial reasons for limiting family size were shared among a large number of respondents, while in developed countries, these barriers were perceived as somewhat lower but still affecting many.<\/p>\n<p>In Sweden, only 19 percent named financial limitations &#8211; still the most common answer.
