{"id":1542014,"date":"2025-06-16T15:05:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-16T19:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1542014"},"modified":"2025-06-16T15:05:00","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T19:05:00","slug":"three-more-states-diverge-from-cdc-on-covid-19-vaccine-recommendations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/three-more-states-diverge-from-cdc-on-covid-19-vaccine-recommendations\/1542014\/","title":{"rendered":"Three More States Diverge From CDC On COVID-19 Vaccine Recommendations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Three More States Diverge From CDC On COVID-19 Vaccine Recommendations<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/health\/three-more-states-diverge-from-cdc-on-covid-19-vaccine-recommendations-5873663?utm_source=partner&amp;utm_campaign=ZeroHedge\"><em>Authored by Zachary Stieber via The Epoch Times,<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Officials from three states said on June 12 that pregnant women should still be able to receive COVID-19 vaccines, diverging from updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Health officials with California, Oregon, and Washington state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/2025\/06\/12\/california-oregon-washington-condemn-dismissal-of-cdc-vaccine-panel-call-on-other-states-to-join-them\/\">said<\/a> in a joint statement that they \u201ccontinue to recommend all individuals age 6 months and older should have access and the choice to receive currently authorized COVID-19 vaccines, with an emphasis on protecting higher risk individuals, such as infants and toddlers, pregnant individuals, and others with risks for serious disease.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/image%20-%202025-06-16T072655.096.jpg?itok=_5yrHYIY\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The CDC in May <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/health\/cdc-updates-covid-19-vaccine-recommendations-after-delay-5865494\">updated<\/a> its immunization schedule for adults, removing a COVID-19 vaccine recommendation for pregnant women. Insurers typically only cover vaccines that are on immunization schedules, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians and other organizations.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC also removed a recommendation for healthy children to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, although the childhood immunization schedule <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/hcp\/imz-schedules\/child-adolescent-notes.html#note-covid-19\">states<\/a> that \u201cwhere the parent presents with a desire for their child to be vaccinated, children 6 months and older may receive COVID-19 vaccination, informed by the clinical judgment of a healthcare provider and personal preference and circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Officials have for several years been directing vaccine manufacturers to update their formulations on an annual basis. The CDC had been advising people to receive a shot each year, regardless of prior vaccination and infection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/cdc-stops-recommending-covid-vaccine-for-healthy-children-pregnant-women-5863960\">said<\/a> the changes were made because there is no clinical data to support a \u201crepeat booster strategy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin officials soon after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/health\/wisconsin-breaks-from-cdc-keeps-covid-19-vaccine-recommendation-for-pregnant-women-5870520\">said<\/a> they were keeping in place COVID-19 vaccine recommendations for all individuals aged 6 months and older. Kirsten Johnson, Wisconsin\u2019s health secretary, said that the current version of the vaccine \u201ccontinues to be an important tool in preventing severe illness and death.\u201d The Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services has not responded to requests for citations.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cUnder the leadership of Secretary Kennedy, HHS is restoring the doctor-patient relationship. If a parent desires their healthy child to be vaccinated, their decision should be based on informed consent through the clinical judgement of their healthcare provider,\u201d a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) told The Epoch Times in an email.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cSecretary Kennedy has been clear: rebuilding trust in public health starts with transparency, medical autonomy, and access to unbiased information.
