The figures are estimates for 2025, made under the medium variant projection in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/population.un.org\/wpp\/downloads?folder=Standard%20Projections&amp;group=Most%20used\">UN World Population Prospects (2024).<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/CountrieswiththemostSeniors_web.jpg?itok=ooFDowz9\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Ranked: Countries With the Most Seniors<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Monaco<\/strong>\u00a0has the highest share of older adults in its population, at 37%.<\/p>\n<p>However, second-place\u00a0<strong>Japan<\/strong>\u00a0stands out with 30% of its population aged 65+, totaling nearly 37 million people.<\/p>\n<p>On top of ranking second by percentage, it\u2019s fourth by total senior population (after China, India and the In fact, many European nations are also seeing a significant uptick in older adults.<\/p>\n<h2>Europe: The Oldest Content by Median Age<\/h2>\n<p>Of the 36 countries on this list, 28 are in Europe. They include Italy (25.1%), Germany (23.7%), and France (22.4%), all major\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.visualcapitalist.com\/visualizing-the-european-unions-19-trillion-economy\/\">European economic powerhouses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This growing population of older adults reflects Europe\u2019s low birth rates and increasing\u00a0<strong>life expectancy<\/strong>.
