Auto Accidents Fall 10% In Major Cities Amid Reports Of Lighter Traffic<\/span><\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, reports began circulating that thanks to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) roundups in major cities,\u00a0the notorious ‘parking lot’ traffic in Los Angeles was suddenly cleared out<\/strong>, allowing people to jet around the city like ‘the old days.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

How many illegals are really in Los Angeles California?<\/p>\n

This is the 101 Freeway, one of the busiest freeways in LA<\/p>\n

This is just outside of Los Angeles, heading into LA at 8: 00am on a work day<\/p>\n

Of course, leftist rags like\u00a0Newsweek<\/em>\u00a0attempted to debunk<\/a> the reports, citing insurance claims adjuster and LA resident Jason Lemus, who said<\/a> “The level of misinformation about this is nuts,” adding “There’s been no significant impact to traffic in LA.”<\/p>\n

What’s interesting, however,\u00a0<\/strong>is that the number of collisions are down roughly 10% y\/y for the period between Jan. 20 – Mar. 14 in both Los Angeles and New York City<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LOS ANGELES \u2013 LAPD TRAFFIC COLLISION REPORTS:<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 From Jan. 20, 2024 through Mar. 14, 2024<\/a>: 2,289 reported collisions.
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 From Jan. 20, 2025 through Mar. 14, 2025<\/a>: 2,076 reported collisions.
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 Decrease of 9.3%<\/p>\n

NEW YORK CITY \u2013 NYPD TRAFFIC COLLISION REPORTS:<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 From Jan. 20, 2024 through Jul. 23, 2024<\/a>: 46,267 reported collisions.
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 From Jan. 20, 2025 through Jul. 23, 2025<\/a> (latest available data): 41,459 reported collisions.
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 Decrease of 10.4%<\/p>\n

So while this data doesn’t explicitly prove that ICE arrests of illegals has had an impact on both freeway congestion and collisions,\u00a0hard data shows a dramatic drop in collisions year-over-year<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
