However, India is at the top in absolute numbers, with more than\u00a0<strong>1 billion<\/strong>\u00a0people saying they pray daily, representing 71% of its population.<\/p>\n<p>In Africa, Kenya and Nigeria have the highest rates of daily prayer. Other highly devout countries include Malaysia, the Philippines, and Bangladesh, where Islam and Christianity are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.visualcapitalist.com\/the-worlds-most-popular-religions\/\">dominant religions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, these countries are also highly religious. For example,\u00a0<strong>100%<\/strong>\u00a0of Indonesians and\u00a0<strong>99%<\/strong>\u00a0of Indians are affiliated with a religion. These percentages are much lower in developed Western nations.<\/p>\n<p>Although most Western nations see low levels of daily prayer, the U.S. stands out with over\u00a0<strong>149 million<\/strong>\u00a0Americans, or\u00a0<strong>44%<\/strong>\u00a0of the population praying daily, with a diverse\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.visualcapitalist.com\/visualizing-the-religious-landscape-of-the-u-s\/\">religious landscape<\/a>.
