Europe Is A Powder Keg<\/span><\/p>\n

Americans who don\u2019t spend time in Europe might not fully appreciate what a powder keg the Old World has become.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

However bad social relations in the United States now are, they are at least an order of magnitude worse on the other side of the Atlantic.\u00a0\u00a0European self-hatred is dissolving traditional cultural bonds.\u00a0\u00a0Mass immigration is compounding age-old rivalries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Europe is one spark away from exploding.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Europe is a perennial battlefield.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Many of our ancestors, after all, left the old country to escape religious, economic, and cultural conflicts that had endured for centuries.\u00a0\u00a0Those historic grievances \u2014 always simmering in times of peace before boiling over into outright violence \u2014 are passed from one generation to the next.\u00a0\u00a0Modern European nations are the product of two thousand years of shifting borders and alliances, and native Europeans trace their family lineages back to regional tribes whose ancient territories do not fit neatly within the politically drawn maps of today.<\/p>\n

If you think geographical accents in America make it tricky for a Mississippian or Minnesotan to communicate effectively with an English-speaker from the Bronx, consider that Europe is home to nearly three hundred native tongues.\u00a0\u00a0Switzerland has four national languages \u2014 including Romansch, which derives from the spoken Latin of the Roman Empire.\u00a0\u00a0The cornucopia of indigenous languages, dialects, vocabularies, and accents makes it possible for local residents of small towns to recognize \u201coutsiders\u201d immediately.\u00a0\u00a0Even more impressively, they can usually tell \u2014 just by listening \u2014 which towns a stranger\u2019s grandparents once called home.<\/p>\n

Two world wars \u2014 both ignited in Europe and responsible for immense European destruction \u2014 propelled a mid-twentieth-century political movement calling for the eradication of national borders.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0The European intelligentsia who became the founding members of the continent\u2019s fledgling transnational bureaucracy blamed national pride for Europe\u2019s carnage and effectively turned \u201cnationalism\u201d into a dirty word.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Oddly, this was also a time when crumbling empires, such as France and the United Kingdom, were at least tepidly supporting the national independence of former colonies.\u00a0\u00a0Likewise, it was the beginning of a half-century U.S.-led campaign to encourage national revolutions in European countries stuck behind the Soviet Union\u2019s Iron Curtain.\u00a0\u00a0So Western power brokers framed nationalism as a kind of intolerable ethos on par with Mussolini\u2019s fascism and Hitler\u2019s national socialism while encouraging former nations or proto-nations in Central Europe, Africa, and Asia to break away from the respective empires that controlled them.\u00a0\u00a0While Western leaders pushed for the integration of distinct European nations into a single \u201cUnion,\u201d they also promoted national independence movements under the rationale that all humans possess a natural right to self-determination.<\/p>\n

In the eighty years since the project for European integration began in earnest, those latent contradictions have transformed Europe into a tinderbox with even greater potential energy for self-destruction than existed before WWI and II.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0While the bureaucratic ruling class has actively repressed the historic identities of native Europeans, it has flooded the continent with foreigners who are encouraged to retain their own cultural identities.\u00a0\u00a0In this way, a Hungarian or Pole or Dane who celebrates his country\u2019s unique heritage is denounced as a \u201cfar-right nationalist,\u201d while a Frenchman who insists that African and Middle Eastern immigrants assimilate to the European way of life is denounced as a \u201cracist\u201d and \u201cbigot.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

This anti-European monstrosity was created deliberately.\u00a0\u00a0Simultaneous suppression of Europeans\u2019 national identities and protections for foreign nationals create a kind of \u201cmulticulturalism dynamo\u201d that converts Europeans into something alien.\u00a0\u00a0Stripped of their native religion, culture, and historic customs and forced to praise foreign religions, cultures, and customs taking hold in the West\u2019s civilizational void, Europeans are effectively assimilated within their own lands.\u00a0 Europeans are taught to despise their own civilization and to bow down before those who seek to replicate a foreign civilization inside Europe.\u00a0\u00a0Europe\u2019s bureaucratic ruling class uses foreigners to beat the Europeanness out of Europeans.<\/p>\n

In the United Kingdom, a grassroots movement of ordinary Brits has initiated \u201cOperation: Raise the Colors.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0The strategy is simple: British citizens are encouraged to prominently display and wave the Cross of St. George and Union Jack flags.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

What could possibly be offensive or dangerous about raising the flags of England and the United Kingdom?\u00a0\u00a0Nothing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Yet the globalist Establishment is losing its collective mind.\u00a0\u00a0Leftists\u00a0insist<\/a>\u00a0that the flags should be replaced with something more \u201cmulticultural\u201d and that only \u201cfar-right racists\u201d would stoop so low as to patriotically raise the country\u2019s flags.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Open-borders politicians are\u00a0calling<\/a>\u00a0the flag-waving \u201cextremist,\u201d \u201chate-filled,\u201d and \u201cwhite supremacist.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0In other words, the British people have forced Britain\u2019s \u201celites\u201d to acknowledge that they have no loyalty to and only antipathy for the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

This rather anodyne form of political speech is proving remarkably effective at exposing globalism\u2019s suicidal contagion.\u00a0 In London, it is perfectly normal to see so-called \u201cgay pride\u201d flags, \u201cPalestinian\u201d flags, Pakistani flags, Iranian flags, and the flags of almost every third-world nation now offloading its citizens onto the shores of the U.K.\u00a0\u00a0If a British citizen were to express outrage over the fact that a panoply of foreign flags is flown brazenly throughout the capital, constables would intimidate the outspoken \u201coffender\u201d into silence by threatening him with prosecution for imaginary \u201chate speech.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Revealingly, however, these same petty tyrants throw hissy fits when native Brits dare \u201craise the colors\u201d of their own nation\u2019s historic flags.<\/p>\n

Similar movements are picking up steam.\u00a0\u00a0Ten years ago, it was more common to see such patriotic displays on the streets of Balkan nations or amid independence parades in the Basque region or other areas of Europe seeking national recognition.\u00a0\u00a0Today it is easy to stumble into a sea of Dutch, Danish, German, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Hungarian, Polish, Czech, or Greek flags when crossing borders.\u00a0\u00a0Eighty years after the European Union began constructing its continental empire, the \u201ccolonies\u201d appear eager to reclaim their right to self-determination.<\/p>\n

I think it\u2019s fair to say that ordinary Europeans are no longer willing to remain quiet as the bureaucratic ruling class kills what\u2019s left of Europe and hands the carcass to foreign conquerors.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0As an American with absolute fidelity to the millennia-long promises of Western civilization, I find these patriotic revivals\u00a0timely rebuttals<\/a>\u00a0to a globalist Establishment that prefers our death.<\/p>\n

I cannot tell you how many times I have come across the words of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas translated into one of Europe\u2019s many native languages.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cDo not go gentle into that good night\u201d and \u201cRage, rage against the dying of the light\u201d show up on message boards like faint heartbeats on an EKG machine.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Many in Europe don\u2019t want to die.\u00a0\u00a0To live, they\u2019ll have to fight.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
