The five most likely outcomes are actually that:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>* The \u201cEU Defense Line\u201d Becomes A \u201cDrone Wall\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/korybko.substack.com\/p\/the-european-parliament-confirmed\">\u201cBaltic Defense Line\u201d and Poland\u2019s \u201cEast Shield\u201d<\/a>, which are collectively known as the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/korybko.substack.com\/p\/the-eu-defense-line-is-the-latest\">EU Defense Line<\/a>\u201d that functions as the new Iron Curtain, might soon be outfitted with cutting-edge anti-drone capabilities as suggested by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. She\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/von-der-leyen-frontline-states-drone-wall-against-putin\/\">spoke<\/a>\u00a0about creating an \u201cEastern Flank Watch\u201d that would also become a \u201cdrone wall\u201d, which the Baltic States have wanted for a while, and it makes sense to expand this program in both directions to Poland and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thealtworld.com\/andrew_korybko\/russias-military-build-up-along-the-finnish-border-will-likely-be-the-new-normal\">Finland<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>* Poland Expands Its Military Influence In The Baltics<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As the most populous and prosperous formerly communist country in Central Europe, which has already built the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/notesfrompoland.com\/2024\/07\/16\/poland-has-natos-third-largest-military-new-figures-show\/\">third-largest army in NATO<\/a>, Poland could easily expand its military influence over the region on the pretext of \u201cdefending against Russia\u201d. New President Karol Nawrocki\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thealtworld.com\/andrew_korybko\/president-elect-nawrocki-outlined-polands-three-priorities-in-central-eastern-europe\">implied<\/a>\u00a0over the summer that the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thealtworld.com\/andrew_korybko\/the-three-seas-initiative-will-play-a-prominent-role-in-post-conflict-europe\">Three Seas Initiative<\/a>\u201d would be the means towards this end and even\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lrt.lt\/en\/news-in-english\/19\/2670289\/poland-s-president-nawrocki-we-are-responsible-for-the-entire-region-interview?srsltid=AfmBOooBO4xttR65R8KhcpYtgIv4rgmDtBhCXHBu-2dixrNBZiJpN7OU\">declared<\/a>\u00a0during his latest trip to Lithuania that \u201cwe are responsible for entire region of Central Europe, including the Baltic States\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>* The US Expands Its Military Presence In Poland<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Poland has been asking for more US troops for years, and Trump seemed willing to satisfy this request when he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/M2owD\">said<\/a>\u00a0during Nawrocki\u2019s visit last month that \u201cWe&#8217;ll put more there if they want.\u201d That might be what he had in mind when he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/polish-foreign-minister-putin-laughs-trumps-peace-efforts\/story?id=125440375\">tweeted<\/a>\u00a0\u201cHere we go!\u201d on Wednesday. As was assessed earlier this year, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/korybko.substack.com\/p\/poland-is-once-again-poised-to-become\">Poland Is Once Again Poised To Become The US\u2019 Top Partner<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/korybko.substack.com\/p\/trump-is-unlikely-to-pull-all-us\">Trump Is Unlikely To Pull All US Troops Out Of Central Europe Or Abandon NATO\u2019s Article 5<\/a>\u201d, so this is within the realm of possibility.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>* Poland Host Elements Of A NATO Sky Shield\u2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Less likely but nonetheless still possible is that Poland hosts elements of a NATO Sky Shield, whether for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hensoldt.net\/programs\/essi-european-sky-shield-initiative\">protecting the bloc\u2019s eastern flank<\/a>\u00a0and\/or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2025\/mar\/06\/european-led-ukraine-air-protection-plan-could-halt-russian-missile-attacks\">extending this umbrella into Western Ukraine<\/a>, the latter of which aligns with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/korybko.substack.com\/p\/heres-what-the-us-security-guarantees\">proposed security guarantee<\/a>. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.pl\/web\/national-defence\/increasing-the-us-military-presence-in-poland#:~:text=Currently%2C%20a%20total%20of%20about%2010%2C000%20troops%20of%20the%20US%20armed%20forces%20are%20stationed%20in%20Poland%2C%20primarily%20as%20part%20of%20a%20rotational%20presence.\">10,000 US troops<\/a>\u00a0in Poland might reassure it that Russia would be deterred from deliberately targeting these assets, not to mention if even more are deployed, but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/korybko.substack.com\/p\/the-latest-survey-shows-that-poles\">public opinion<\/a>\u00a0might keep this shield centered on Poland instead of shared with Ukraine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>* \u2026But That\u2019s As Far As Its Response Will Go<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Regardless of whatever happens with the aforesaid scenario, Poland won\u2019t go any further by deploying troops to Ukraine for example, which Nawrocki\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/notesfrompoland.com\/2025\/05\/22\/polish-opposition-presidential-candidate-signs-far-right-leaders-list-of-demands\/#:~:text=I%20will%20not%20allow%20Polish%20soldiers%20to%20be%20sent%20to%20Ukrainian%20territory.\">ruled<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tass.com\/world\/2014441\">out<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/korybko.substack.com\/p\/ukraines-western-borders-are-unlikely\">Despite occasional speculation<\/a>, Poland has no revanchist plans since it doesn\u2019t want to be responsible for millions of ultra-nationalist Ukrainians, who could also wage a terrorist insurgency against its troops.
