Japan Will Play A Much Greater Role In Advancing The American Agenda In Asia<\/span><\/p>\n

Putin\u2019s senior aide Nikolai Patrushev gave an interview to\u00a0Arguments and Facts<\/a>\u00a0about Japan on the 80th\u00a0anniversary of its unilateral surrender in World War II in early September that\u2019s important to raise wider awareness of after the appointment of its\u00a0new ultra-nationalist prime minister<\/a>.<\/strong> He began by reminding everyone that \u201cTokyo zealously cultivated an open racism that surpassed German Nazism in its absurdity and inhumanity. And the sovereignty of other countries was considered an empty phrase there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patrushev then touched upon Imperial Japan\u2019s failed geopolitical plot to turn the Sea of Japan into an inland sea and even seize Kamchatka so as \u201cto gain undivided possession of the Sea of Okhotsk\u201d too. He assessed that Japan\u2019s current campaign for \u201c\u2019justice\u2019 on the issue of the so-called \u2018northern territories\u2019\u201d is just a disguise for a similar plot to obtain control over new marine (seafood and mineral) resources. Patrushev accordingly warned that it\u2019s planning to make new claims to Russian maritime territory.<\/p>\n

The emerging trend of misportraying Imperial Japan as the \u201cvictim\u201d of Soviet aggression in 1945, despite the Allies having agreed in advance that the USSR would open up the Manchurian Front three months after the Nazis\u2019 defeat, is meant to lend false legitimacy to these claims. <\/strong>This threat shouldn\u2019t be downplayed, Patrushev warned, since Japan\u2019s \u201cSelf-Defense Forces\u201d de facto function as national armed forces, are NATO-backed, and are \u201csystematically building a powerful and ultra-modern submarine fleet\u201d.<\/p>\n

In his words, \u201cJapan is one of the most powerful naval powers in the world today. Its fleet is capable of solving almost any task even in remote areas of the World Ocean. The Japanese Navy closely cooperates with the NATO fleet, and at any moment they can be integrated into Western coalition formats.\u201d Even more concerning are Japan\u2019s nuclear breakthrough capabilities: \u201cit is capable of creating its own nuclear arsenal and means of delivery in a few years\u201d if the decision is made, according to Patrushev.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, these threats shouldn\u2019t be exaggerated either since Russia is \u201cbuilding up defensive potential in the Far East and strengthening our naval power in the Pacific Ocean\u201d, thus meaning that it\u2019s more than capable of defending itself from Japan. Rather, \u201cThe threat lies not so much in the destroyers and missiles, but in the fact that the national consciousness of the Japanese is shifting from pacifism to rabid revanchism\u201d, which he attributed to a long-running \u201caggressive propaganda\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n

The purpose is to precondition the population to accept the risks associated with Japan more actively advancing US interests in the region via the \u201cSquad<\/a>\u201d (those two, Australia, and the Philippines), which is envisaged as the core of AUKUS+, the US\u2019 desired NATO-like regional analogue.<\/strong> Japan\u2019s place in the US\u2019\u00a0Chinese Containment Coalition<\/a>\u00a0just rose as a result of the unexpected\u00a0Sino-Indo rapprochement<\/a>, prior to which the US wanted India to play a complementary role, so Japan is now at the forefront of this effort.<\/p>\n

The trend is that New Cold War\u2019s focus is shifting from US-led NATO\u2019s containment of Russia in Europe to US-led AUKUS+\u2019s containment of China in Asia, all while the\u00a0TRIPP Corridor<\/a>\u00a0injects Western influence into the Eurasian Heartland to stir trouble for both. India\u2019s Pakistani rival is also poised to\u00a0play a supportive role<\/a>\u00a0on the Central Asian front if\u00a0tensions with the Taliban<\/a>\u00a0abate.<\/p>\n

Altogether,\u00a0Poland<\/a>, Japan, Turkiye, and possibly Pakistan are now the US\u2019 top containment allies, which isn\u2019t lost on\u00a0Russia, India, and China<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
