{"id":1666406,"date":"2026-02-25T09:15:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T14:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1666406"},"modified":"2026-02-25T09:15:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T14:15:00","slug":"report-details-russias-shadowy-digital-pipeline-concealing-90bn-in-crude-exports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/report-details-russias-shadowy-digital-pipeline-concealing-90bn-in-crude-exports\/1666406\/","title":{"rendered":"Report Details Russia&#8217;s Shadowy Digital\u00a0Pipeline Concealing $90BN In Crude Exports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Report Details Russia&#8217;s Shadowy Digital\u00a0Pipeline Concealing $90BN In Crude Exports<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>Global sanctions meet the digital age in a recent interesting bit of FT analysis, which concluded that a\u00a0single email server may have exposed what amounts to a<strong> $90 billion shadow pipeline for Russian crude<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>While Western media and officials would consider this an &#8216;illicit&#8217; sprawling sanctions-evasion machine hiding in plain sight, Moscow sees US-EU efforts to stamp out its international energy trade as an unjust tactic to impose total economic isolation related to the Putin&#8217;s &#8216;special military operation&#8217; in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Financial Times<\/em>\u00a0report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/4310f010-2b3c-493e-ba0a-26dc6d156b2e\">alleges<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0<strong>&#8220;48 seemingly independent companies working from different physical addresses&#8221; <\/strong>in reality appear to be<strong> &#8220;operating together to disguise the origin of Russian oil, particularly from Kremlin-controlled Rosneft.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/oilfile.jpg?itok=nVXQ95Qm\"><em>Source: Shutterstock<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Discovery of a common backend infrastructure reportedly exposes the scheme, as on the surface it looked like a fragmented web of independent traders &#8211; while digitally, it was one ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>For example, the FT identified 442 web domains all routed through the same private server &#8211; &#8220;mx.phoenixtrading.ltd&#8221; &#8211; with 19 of those domains reportedly tied to Russian businesses, spanning energy and real estate ventures, and curiously several are linked to Azeri nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Among the heavy hitters identified are Dubai-based Foxton FZCO, listed in Russian export records as purchasing <strong>$5.6 billion worth of oil<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; and Advan Alliance appears in Indian customs data as having <strong>sold $1.5 billion in Russian crude into India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators further found the<strong> companies had remarkably short lifespans<\/strong>, suggesting fraud, and in some cases customs records revealed the average entity operated for just six months.<\/p>\n<p>The report alleges additionally that once sanctioned a firm would often vanish, only to be replaced by a fresh corporate shell &#8211; leaving oversight authorities and enforcement lagging far behind.<\/p>\n<p>The report further highlights in the wake of Trump sanctioning export giants Rosneft and Lukoil back in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/4310f010-2b3c-493e-ba0a-26dc6d156b2e\">October 2025<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Since those sanctions were imposed, an otherwise unknown company in the network, <strong>\u201cRedwood Global Supply\u201d, has become the single largest exporter of Russian crude<\/strong>.
