{"id":1666728,"date":"2026-02-27T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1666728"},"modified":"2026-02-27T04:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T09:00:00","slug":"elite-us-air-force-pilot-arrested-for-training-the-chinese-military-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/elite-us-air-force-pilot-arrested-for-training-the-chinese-military-2\/1666728\/","title":{"rendered":"Elite US Air Force Pilot Arrested For Training The Chinese Military"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Elite US Air Force Pilot Arrested For Training The Chinese Military<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>The following has made for quite the headline, as a retired elite US Air Force pilot is in very hot water and faces US intelligence and military questioning: &#8220;A former US Air Force fighter pilot with <strong>more than two decades of experience with nuclear delivery systems and aircraft<\/strong>, including <strong>advanced F-35 stealth jets<\/strong>, has been arrested and charged with <strong>conspiring to help the Chinese military<\/strong>,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/02\/26\/china\/us-air-force-pilot-china-instructor-charges-intl-hnk-ml\">according<\/a> to CNN.<\/p>\n<p>65-year old Gerald Eddie Brown Jr. was arrested in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on Wednesday after one or more lengthy recent trips to China where it&#8217;s believed he <strong>not only briefed officials from China&#8217;s defense establishment<\/strong>, but provided training for Chinese PLA military pilots.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/f35ins.jpg?itok=KiwCpOCt\"><em>File image: USAF\/Anadolu<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>US interrogators are said to be most alarmed at Brown&#8217;s vast experience with America&#8217;s most advanced stealth jet &#8211; the\u00a0Lockheed Martin F-35, as well as nuclear delivery systems and tactics.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Providing US military training to our adversaries represents a significant threat to national security,&#8221; Lee Russ, executive director of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Office of Special Project, said in an official statement after the retired Air Force pilot&#8217;s arrest. He&#8217;s specifically accused of violating the Arms Export Control Act\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brown retired as a major all the way back in 1996, having served 24 years of active duty Air Force, but he has since been a top US Air Force adviser and trainer of US combat pilots. As <em>Fox<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/ex-air-force-pilot-arrested-allegedly-training-chinese-military-pilots-without-authorization\">reviews<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>During his career, he <strong>commanded units responsible for nuclear weapons delivery systems<\/strong>, led combat missions and worked as a fighter pilot and simulator instructor on aircraft including the F-4, F-15, F-16 and A-10. After leaving the military, Brown worked as a commercial cargo pilot and later as a contract simulator <strong>instructor training U.S. pilots to fly the A-10 and the F-35 Lightning II<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The US Attorney\u2019s statement alleged that while in China &#8220;<strong>Brown answered questions for three hours about the U.S. Air Force on his first day in the PRC<\/strong> and then, on his second day, prepared and presented a brief about himself for the PLAAF,\u201d the statement said. The rest of the time <strong>he trained Chinese pilots<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>FBI New York Assistant Director in Charge James Barnacle followed with: &#8220;Brown\u2019s alleged betrayal exposed sensitive military tactics, threatening the security of our nation, our armed forces, and our allies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Apparently Brown wasn&#8217;t quiet at all about his activities in China, and which also comes at a moment of military tensions around Taiwan and in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/ex-air-force-pilot-arrested-allegedly-training-chinese-military-pilots-without-authorization\">South China Sea<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>According to the complaint, Brown began <strong>negotiating a contract &#8220;in or around&#8221; August 2023 to train Chinese military pilots<\/strong>, working through a co-conspirator who dealt with Stephen Su Bin, a Chinese national previously convicted in the U.S. of conspiring to hack into the computer networks of major American defense contractors and steal sensitive military data.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Prosecutors say Brown made clear in those discussions that he intended to train Chinese pilots in combat aircraft operations. In a r\u00e9sum\u00e9, he listed his objective as &#8220;Instructor Fighter Pilot&#8221; and later wrote that, upon\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/world\/world-regions\/china\" target=\"_blank\">arriving in China<\/a>, <strong>&#8220;Now\u2026. I have the chance to fly and instruct fighter pilots again!&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A former American pilot has in recent years been prosecuted by the DOJ under similar circumstances related to instructing PLA pilots: &#8220;Former US Marine Corps pilot\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/12\/23\/australia\/duggan-us-fighter-pilot-extradition-intl-hnk\">Daniel Duggan was charged<\/a>\u00a0in 2017 of violating the Arms Export Control Act, specifically for allegedly helping Chinese pilots learn aircraft carrier operations,&#8221; notes CNN.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/brownfile.jpg?itok=e4xAt6fW\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s understandable that the US government gets extremely nervous about active or retired officials with nuclear secrets going abroad to rival nations, but there&#8217;s some lingering questions of consistency. For example, what about Blackwater founder Erik Prince, whose Chinese military ties are so well known as to be featured in his permanent <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Erik_Prince\">Wikipedia page<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p><em>Prince co-founded a firm called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frontier_Services_Group\" title=\"Frontier Services Group\">Frontier Services Group<\/a>\u00a0and until April 13, 2021 he was also chairman.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frontier_Services_Group\" title=\"Frontier Services Group\">Frontier Services Group<\/a>\u00a0is listed on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hong_Kong_Stock_Exchange\" title=\"Hong Kong Stock Exchange\">Hong Kong Stock Exchange<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Frontier Services Group is backed by China&#8217;s state-owned\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CITIC_Group\" title=\"CITIC Group\">CITIC Group<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and Hong Kong-based investor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Johnson_Chun_Shun_Ko&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\" title=\"Johnson Chun Shun Ko (page does not exist)\">Johnson Chun Shun Ko<\/a>\u00a0[<a href=\"https:\/\/zh.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%E9%AB%98%E6%8C%AF%E9%A0%86\" title=\"zh:\u9ad8\u632f\u9806\">zh<\/a>],\u00a0with the Chinese government listed as the largest investor.\u00a0Prince advised and supported Chinese mining and construction firms in Africa.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In May 2017, <strong>FSG acquired a 25% stake in a Chinese private security training school called the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/International_Security_Defense_College\" title=\"International Security Defense College\">International Security Defense College<\/a>, located in Beijing<\/strong>. The college provides training in counterterrorism, high-risk operations, and overseas security for military, law enforcement, and private personnel.\u00a0FSG has since overseen the school&#8217;s program of training &#8220;overseas security specialists&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a good chance that if Brown, on the other hand, was close personal friends with various Trump admin officials, the US government would be looking the other way.<\/p>\n<p>Yet the Intel committee, of which you chair, didn\u2019t ask Erik Prince a single question *when he was under oath* about his security company which is based in China and whose investment arm is his biggest shareholder. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TfT9Mot4rD\">https:\/\/t.co\/TfT9Mot4rD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 jeremy scahill (@jeremyscahill) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jeremyscahill\/status\/978251054914703360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 26, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also, the same scenario could have played out with a more &#8216;friendly&#8217; country and the investigators probably would not have come knocking.
