{"id":1667054,"date":"2026-03-01T23:38:44","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T04:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1667054"},"modified":"2026-03-01T23:38:44","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T04:38:44","slug":"equity-futures-slide-oil-and-gold-jump-but-no-panic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/equity-futures-slide-oil-and-gold-jump-but-no-panic\/1667054\/","title":{"rendered":"Equity Futures Slide, Oil And Gold Jump, But No Panic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">Equity Futures Slide, Oil And Gold Jump, But No Panic<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p>The widely anticipated Sunday night open of futures trading is here, and it is a bit anticlimatic.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, futures are broadly lower, oil and gold are higher, but there is no panic, and as Bloomberg&#8217;s Mark Cudmore writes,\u00a0most non-energy moves are relatively contained and almost everything has pared back from the opening extremes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To wit, oil is up 8.5%. but it was up as much as 13% at the start of futures trading, so some profit taking off the bat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/wti%202026-03-01_18-31-42.jpg?itok=7pk9Vu4I\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>US equity futures down about 1% no, off their worst levels.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/ES%202026-03-01_18-30-30.jpg?itok=9O9-P8Gc\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gold and silver both still up more than 1% but that seems small enough in context of recent volatility.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/gold%20silver_28.jpg?itok=Xuq2do6z\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>US dollar\u2019s early strength continues to ease back at the margin, even if it\u2019s the clearest FX theme for the day so far<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/bbdxy%20gold%20silver.jpg?itok=F3ErxxqA\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even bitcoin &#8211; which traditionally gets slammed on any news these days &#8211; is actually in positive territory on the session (and was well higher during the weekend).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/xbt%20bbdxy%20gold%20silver.jpg?itok=kCwUdbUc\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To summarize, while it is still very early, there\u2019s no sense of panic in markets yet.
