{"id":1667635,"date":"2026-03-05T23:25:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T04:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/?p=1667635"},"modified":"2026-03-05T23:25:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T04:25:00","slug":"ai-agents-prefer-bitcoin-over-fiat-new-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bugaluu.com\/news\/ai-agents-prefer-bitcoin-over-fiat-new-study\/1667635\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Agents Prefer Bitcoin Over Fiat: New Study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden\">AI Agents Prefer Bitcoin Over Fiat: New Study<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/nearly-half-ai-agents-chose-bitcoin-preferred-money-research\">Authored by Martin Young via Cointelegraph<\/a>,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A new study from the Bitcoin Policy Institute indicates that <strong>artificial intelligence models prefer Bitcoin over stablecoins and other forms of money for different financial situations<\/strong>, with very few showing a preference for fiat currency.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/019b3195-150e-706c-b910-0cef7b5649a0_80.jpg?itok=u_JFs2rn\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The BPI tested 36 models generating more than 9,000 responses, and <strong>the AI agents \u201coverwhelmingly chose to use Bitcoin for their economic activity,\u201d<\/strong> the institute said on Tuesday as it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneyforai.org\/\">released<\/a> the results of its research.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The study found that 48.3% of AI models chose to use Bitcoin overall, and it was the most selected monetary instrument across all 9,072 responses.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about scenarios involving preserving purchasing power over multi-year horizons, <strong>79.1% of AI responses chose Bitcoin, \u201cthe single most lopsided result in the study.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, <strong>for payment scenarios<\/strong>, services, micropayments, and <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/sofi-and-mastercard-move-stablecoin-settlement-into-global-card-network\">cross-border transfers<\/a>, <strong>stablecoins were chosen in 53.2% of responses compared to just 36% for Bitcoin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Bitwise chief investment officer Jeff Park <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/dgt10011\/status\/2028917692548424075\">said<\/a> that the most obvious explanation for stablecoins not doing better is that they \u201ccan be frozen, Bitcoin can\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Almost 91% of responses chose a digitally native instrument<\/strong> such as <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-downside-momentum-fading-but-no-confirmed-trend-reversal-analysts\">Bitcoin<\/a>, stablecoins, altcoins, tokenized real-world assets (RWA), or compute units over traditional fiat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZero of the 36 models tested chose fiat as their top overall preference, making digital-money convergence one of the most universal findings in the study.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/019cb6f5-071c-7ed3-9812-84c1b581de24_80.jpg?itok=FvZCBTgE\">Half of AI agents prefer Bitcoin.
