Drake Maye’s MVP outlook tied to new Matthew Stafford update

Drake Maye’s performance during the 2025 NFL Season has put him in the MVP conversation, with the New England Patriots quarterback being viewed as a potential favorite for the award.

There is just one other player that stands in his way: Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

And on Saturday, Stafford appeared to have taken the lead in the conversation after the Associated Press announced its annual All-Pro teams, in which Stafford was named to the first team. As for Maye, he earned second-team All-Pro honors.

Specifically, Stafford received 31 first-place votes, while Maye received 18. Stafford currently leads the NFL in passing yards (4,707) and passing touchdowns (46), but Maye is ahead in passer rating (113.5) and completion percentage (72.0).

No Patriots players were named to the first-team All-Pro, but Maye, along with star punt returner Marcus Jones, were named to the second-team All-Pro.
