The Cleveland Browns<\/a> didn’t have the best season in the NFL, but there were a lot of interesting storylines this season. From Myles Garrett breaking the NFL sack record to the stellar play from their rookies, it’s been a fascinating year for the Browns.<\/p>\n

One of the more important storylines from 2025 was the emergence of rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger as one of the best rookies from the 2025 NFL Draft. He’s also one of the favorites to win Defensive Rookie of the Year this season.<\/p>\n

But, with the reveal of the All-Pro list voting shared by Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press<\/a>, Schewsinger’s odds to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award seemingly increased, as the voting indicates he’s the most likely rookie to win the award.<\/p>\n

Browns’ Carson Schwesinger gets good news on DRoy race<\/h2>\n

Maaddi shared the voting for the All-Pro teams, and while Schewsinger didn’t get named to the first or second team, neither did any other rookie.<\/p>\n

That alone is a good sign for the Browns linebacker to win the award, but looking at the voting totals, there’s even more of a chance to secure the award.<\/p>\n

Schwesinger finished the voting with 17 points and four first-team All-Pro votes. Those 17 points are the most of any rookie, with Nick Emmanwori receiving just six points thanks to two first-team All-Pro votes.<\/p>\n

A first-team vote is worth three points, meaning Emmanwori was on just two lists as a first-team slot defender, while Schwesinger was on nine ballots, earning four first-team votes and five second-team votes.<\/p>\n

To highlight how impressive that is, he was the sixth-best linebacker by All-Pro voting this season, and among all rookies, on offense or defense, he was by far the biggest vote-getter.<\/p>\n

Only Chimere Dike, the Tennessee Titans<\/a> returner, received more All-Pro votes than Schwesinger this season, as he was named the NFL’s first-team All-Pro punt returner with 90 points (27 first-team votes), and was the third-best kick returner (28 votes, six first-team).<\/p>\n

The voting results from the All-Pro teams are a big deal, as they’re an indicator of the end-of-season awards, since they’re voted on by the same group of people.<\/p>\n

Schwesinger, the highest vote-getter among rookies on offense or defense, looks poised to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award for this incredible 2025 season.<\/p>\n
