The Philadelphia Eagles officially downgraded backup offensive lineman Brett Toth to OUT for Sunday\u2019s Wild Card playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n
After suffering a concussion in the Eagles\u2019 Week 18 loss to the Washington Commanders, Toth missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being upgraded to limited on Friday. He was originally ruled questionable prior to being downgraded.<\/p>\n
Toth\u2019s absence leaves the Eagles without their top backup option at both starting guard spots and center. It remains to be seen how the team will handle replacing him, if necessary. It\u2019s possible that rookie Drew Kendall will come in to play center if Cam Jurgens gets hurt. Alternatively, the Eagles could shift Landon Dickerson to the pivot (like they did in the playoffs last year) and put Matt Pryor in at left guard. Pryor figures to play guard if either Dickerson or Tyler Steen are injured.<\/p>\n
Speaking of offensive line injuries, it\u2019s still unclear if Lane Johnson will suit up on Sunday. The good news is that the Eagles didn\u2019t also downgrade him to out like they did with Toth. And all signs point to Johnson trying to give it a go. But we\u2019ll see if he\u2019s able to actually make it through the game.<\/p>\n
