\t2019: Offensive coordinator Todd Monken\t<\/p>\n
There has been a lot going on since the Cleveland Browns made Todd Monken their next head coach a few weeks ago<\/a>. In the end, DC Jim Schwartz\u2019s departure from the team<\/a> became the biggest storyline, but Monken has stayed busy trying to fill his staff, including the now vacant defensive coordinator position.<\/p>\n The Monken hire has not been graded well<\/a>, but there is little doubt about his history of improving offenses as an assistant coach<\/a>. Now, it is his job to fill out a staff with assistants that can help him do the same thing, as well as keep the defense at a high level, in Cleveland.<\/p>\n The Browns do not traditionally make their coaching staff official until right before the NFL combine at the end of February. OL coach Sanders Davis<\/a>Special Teams Coordinator Byron Storer<\/a>DC Mike Rutenberg<\/a><\/p>\n Monken had reportedly recruited from his Baltimore Ravens days to hire Associate HC Daniel Stern<\/a>, but he is now reportedly joining the Seattle Seahawks<\/a>.<\/p>\n After spending time interviewing or talking to a wide number of candidates for the defensive coordinator job, Monken landed on Mike Rutenberg<\/a>, defensive pass game coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n With the NFL combine just a week away, we should get even more clarity and official news on Monken\u2019s Browns staff soon.<\/p>\n
