It isn’t a shock to see so many analysts connect the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> to free-agent cornerbacks. General manager Les Snead said<\/a> recently that the team will attack the position, and the Rams have the salary cap firepower and draft capital to completely revamp the unit.<\/p>\n

So, with free agency around the corner (the unofficial start is March 9), ESPN’s Matt Bowen<\/a> played matchmaker with some of the best names expected to be on the open market next month. He picked New Orleans Saints cornerback Alontae Taylor for the Rams.<\/p>\n

The Rams’ lack of speed in the secondary — which showed up in their NFC Championship Game loss to the Seahawks — must be addressed this offseason. Taylor, who had two interceptions with the Saints in 2025, would provide the Rams a versatile cover corner with disruptive traits and the ability to play outside or in the slot. Chicago and Las Vegas are good fits, as well.<\/p>\n

Taylor is not a new name on the list of potential Rams suitors. <\/p>\n

He was a speculative trade target during the 2025 season and will be one of the most-coveted free agents at his position this spring. Taylor, 27, had two interceptions, 59 combined tackles and 11 defended passes this past season. He has an ideal frame at 6-foot and 199 pounds and is experienced enough to be a good upgrade at the position, regardless of how many of the Rams’ impending free-agent cornerbacks hit the open market.<\/p>\n

The only question around Taylor will be his price. Spotrac estimates his market value at $11.2 million annually on an estimated three-year, $33.5 million deal this offseason. Would the Rams pay that for his services? We’ll find out in a few weeks.<\/p>\n
