Jacob Bridgeman received messages from two Clemson Tigers legends after winning the Genesis Invitational.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trevor Lawrence and Dabo Swinney both congratulated the 26-year-old on his first PGA Tour<\/a> victory.<\/p>\n

Bridgeman entered the final round with a six-shot lead, but it was reduced to one by the 18th hole after a nervy performance.<\/p>\n

Still, the former Tiger eventually held off Rory McIlroy<\/a> and Kurt Kitayama with a clutch par on the last.<\/p>\n

Jacob Bridgeman appreciates \u2018super special\u2019 Trevor Lawrence support<\/h2>\n

Bridgeman was shown congratulatory messages from Lawrence and Swinney at the end of his press conference.<\/p>\n

He revealed that he had previously met both Clemson icons and was delighted they were supporting him at The Genesis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s sick,\u201d Bridgeman reacted, before expanding on his admiration for the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, Trevor and I were the same age at Clemson, but he was so famous before he even got to school that he couldn\u2019t really hang out with anybody,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI met him a few times, talked to him. He\u2019s a super nice guy. I\u2019ve been a fan of his kind of his whole NFL<\/a> career. I\u2019m so glad that he had an amazing season this past year and almost won an MVP.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo super nice guy. I am glad he was watching, and that\u2019s super special that he sent that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dabo Swinney message \u2018means a lot\u2019 to Jacob Bridgeman <\/h2>\n

Bridgeman was equally proud to earn praise from Swinney, head coach of the Tigers\u2019 football team for 17 years.<\/p>\n

The two-time national champion used to ask Bridgeman and his fellow golfers for tips during his time at the university.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd Dabo has been probably the most important guy in Clemson history the last 20 years or so. Amazing man,\u201d Bridgeman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe would show up to the golf facility all the time, just run by, talk to the guys, ask for a couple of tips on his chipping, and scoot on by.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo very, very nice guy. I\u2019m glad that they\u2019re supportive of me; that means a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
